Very Enjoyable Read!

I have not read this author before and this was recommended by a friend. It was an enjoyable read, it’s nice to see diversity in historical romances.

Definitely made up for it in the end

I enjoyed the story in the beginning , and then I begin to have a great disdain for the lead character. However, she redeemed herself in the end, and I totally love the book.

Worth it

This story was so well written and so well performed that I’m filled with anticipation for all the rest of the DuBells stories. It also made me interested in this authors other works.

A wonderful book!

I so enjoyed this book. Color means nothing to me, as we are ALL humans! So listening to my usual Regency style books & it being about a different color did not bother me 1 bit, nor should it anyone. I'm white, married to a Spanish man, w/10 Mexican & Native American grandkids. I had 1 granddaughter break my heart just this summer when out if the blue she called me a "White Supremist & sh*t eating Colonizer." (Note: I have had a VERY hard life full of abuse, nothing special in my life, b4 I married her grandpa 20 yrs ago & I've loved ALL of his big family as my own. My only sibling committed suicide, & I never had any family around me. I was thrilled to marry & have the kids around me, as I never had children. I live w/several disabilities, horrific chronic pain, depression, PTSD, & more, & care alone for my 2 elderly parents who BOTH have different dementias- 6 yrs so far of utter grief & heartbreak).... so to hear a person I'd loved for 20 yrs say such hateful, terrible things to me just because of my color shattered my heart! In my 58 yrs on earth I NEVER have had 1 racist bone in my body, nor has my husband, but to my utter heartbreak, this is what youth are being taught. Character over color I say. So sad! We must ALL love each other. This CRT is being taught just to divide us & a divided house cannot stand. I fear for our country. SO GOOD FOR THIS AUTHOR! I LOVED the beautiful color, voices of the different narrators, & the BEAUTIFUL love story with such AMAZING twists & turns...& best of all, such an ending! WOW! Gulp! I'd gladly listen to more by this author. It was 1 of those books you don't want to end! God bless to ALL who went into the Audible making of this GREAT book!!
