When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.
Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.

I listened to the book with head phones and it sounded like she had a lozenge in her mouth. It just about drove me crazy enough to quit the book. I don't know if it's as noticeable listening to it on a speaker. By book 3 either I was used to it or she didn't make that noise anymore.
It was worth it, I guess. I liked the story but the some of the erotic stuff was more abusive than erotic and in the 3rd book some of it was just gross.
Let those who you love know today, tomorrow is not promised! Life experience, Mishawn
This series is one of the best series I have listened to in awhile. R.K. Lilliey is definitely one of my most fave authors and Elizabeth Powers is one of the best narrator I've listened to. I'm in total search for the rest of R.K. Lilliey's books on Audiable and in hard form.
I can't say I have only one favorite character but at least all three of them. Bianca, James and, Stephan.
One of the great things about this series is there is comedy as well as HOT sex, friendship and romance. The parts that were funny I found myself not being able to hold back form laughing out loud. There is some great characters in the book and too many scenes for me to pick out just one.
I'm thankful I waited for all the books to be out before I bought just one. I would have found it hard to wait for the next two books
I enjoyed this book even more read to me..
All of it
Same as Story
Do not buy this book unless you want an exact rip off of 50 Shades of Grey. I enjoyed reading 50 Shades but this storyline and plot are so similar, including some fine details. This book was not at all original and I was very dissatisfied.
I love the entire story and its characters. I so wish I can reread it again without knowing what happens as each page turns. However, I no longer listen to my radio. I play Inflight through my mp3 jack. Its awesome.
never read another book by Powers
The book had no redeeming facts and it was basic trash. Wish I could get my money back
waste of time
OMG! This book was good, no, Great! James and Bianca! And Stephan, I want a friend like him. Don't wait, just get the book and you'll be hooked. Elizabeth Powers is the greatest narrator. She makes the characters come to life. Once again, Audible, you have a winner. Well worth the money!
Really loved this story! Not sure why I waited so long to meet Mr. Cavendish! A must read series!
She was spectacular! One of my favorite narrators to date!
Say something about yourself!
Thank goodness this was awesome! I have been afraid to try this series, too many up and down reviews...it's a rip off of this it's a rip off of that....well I'm here to say it's not a rip off of anything! It's an all new book and an all new story...is there a virgin, is there a billionaire, yes and yes...but the virgin had a good reason to be one...and she's the damaged one...but not super damaged as in some other books. Is there Dom/sub stuff...yes...but in a WHOLE new consensual give and take way.
What can I say....from page one I was totally caught up...I wanted to listen at every moment of the day until it was done, I wanted to know what happened next. Anyone who follows me knows I'm not a fan of contrived drama...drama for the sake of continuing a story line, drama that would never happen if people would just talk to each other. Every book seems to have some to a certain extent, and this one was on the lower end. There was drama but it was of the needed and emotional roller coaster kind. I have to say I hated the main male character...then I adored him....then I thought wow what a total p*ick! Then I adored him again...his mess ups were just SO typical male! I just wanted to scream, you STUPID NAIVE MAN! I think we can all agree that sometimes men confound us with their logic...they aren't being dumb they are just being MALE, and this book was full of stupid male...but in a believable way.
The one small complaint I have in this book is that the female lead wouldn't tell the guy how she felt...I get that she is damaged, but I just wanted to scream at her to get over it, or not even try. I spent most of the book thinking will she give him a chance...does he deserve a chance..will they get a chance?
Bottom line I am off to get book 2, hope book 3 is out soon because I can tell this is going to be one of those all consuming trilogies for me where I am dying to know how it all unravels. I would pay full price for this book, and that's saying something!!!
I enjoyed this second installment and love the characters in this book just as much as I did in the first but the ending was odd and didn't make me want to rush for the next in the series.
