Publisher's summary

They call him the Devil Earl - a scoundrel and accused murderer who grew up on the violent London streets. A proper young lady risks more than her reputation when consorting with the roguishly handsome Lucian Langdon, but Lady Catherine Mabry believes she has no choice. To protect those she loves, she would do anything - even strike a bargain with the devil himself.

Lucian desires respectability and a wife above all else, but the woman of his choosing lacks the social graces to be accepted by the aristocracy. Catherine can help Lucian gain everything he wants. But what she asks for in exchange will put their very lives in jeopardy. When danger closes in, Catherine discovers a man of immense passion and he discovers a woman of immeasurable courage. As secrets from his dark past are revealed, Lucian begins to question everything he knows to be true, including the yearnings of his own heart.

VT. FAN

What did you love best about In Bed with the Devil?

Passionate romance with a gutsy heroine and sexy alpha hero for starters. Great twist on the "Oliver Twist" story line.

What did you like best about this story?

ISo well written...but the "Oliver Twist" angle was brilliant. The romance was both sweet and hot.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Both

Any additional comments?

If you like Julie Garwood or Marsha Canham you will love this series. Just as the "Robin Hood" trilogy by Canham put a different spin on a great romance this series has done the same with the "Oliver Twist" spin. I highly recommend this series in both book and audio book versions. The narrators were great.

Exceeded my expectations...

I have that happy satisfied feeling of finding a new series (new for me) that I Absolutely love. It's a moving story with unexpected twists. It does have some back stories about rape, murder and domestic violence but it wasn't too graphic. Although this is a romance, the're many things happening that are very interesting.

What I loved the most about the story is the way the author developed the relationship between Catherine and Luke. There was instant attraction but they were friends first and slowly their friendship developed into intense love. This audiobook was so worth the money and it's one I will definitely listen to again.

Narration: this is the first book I've listed to that has been narrated by Susan Ericksen. I found her voice and accent very appropriate. There wasn't a really marked difference between the male and female voices but it did not take away from the story. You could still tell when a different character was speaking.

For me this was a Historical Romance five star listen and I'm ready to start book 2 immediately.

a worthwhile read!

I was looking for a good story to while away the weekend and was in luck.

After not being able to complete several books due to poor narration, this narrator was laudable and kept my interest in the story to the end.

Worth a try!

Guilty Pleasures

If you could sum up In Bed with the Devil in three words, what would they be?

Delicious Guilty Pleasures

What was one of the most memorable moments of In Bed with the Devil?

can't say yet, haven't finished the story

Which scene was your favorite?

can't say yet, haven't finished the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely!

Any additional comments?

I'm only partway through the story, but already seriously hooked. I don't believe the author has missed a single cliche so far, yet still the story engages. The hero is the mysterious bad boy, the heroine the well-bred woman who defies convention. So yeah, the theme has been done to death - and yet -- Ms Heath spins her web, and the narrators enchant so that I'm hopelessly and delightfully ensnared. Definitely a keeper. Knowing it is the first of a series is like savoring the first course of what promises to be a lovely feast.

Very captivating

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course the Earl! He was so mysterious and such a decent man I couldn't help falling in love as well!

What does Susan Ericksen and Antony Ferguson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Susan gives a great perfrmance. I love her accent and anunciation on every word. She brings characters to life with various pitches. Anthony reads the journal of the Earl which is very nice hearing a mans voice while listening to a mans thoughts

My first Lorraine Heath 📙💗💙♥️

This was my first Lorraine Heath book and it's still one of my favorite books of all time.

I love Luke and his story. Lorraine tells stories full of love, passion, and honesty. This book will grab your heart and stay there no matter how many books you read.

It was OK

The book had a good idea or two that could have made a great story, but there was too much predictable romantic fluff. Spoiler alert: The male character was not afraid of danger, but when it came down to it, he wasn't that capable in a fight. Of course, there was the female character trying to help but just getting in the way. Too many female characters seem to just get in the way. OK for me - nothing more.
