Down, Boy

Anna Moder has just witnessed a shooting, seen her car pulverized, and rescued a wounded stranger - only to discover he's really a werewolf. And by her recent standards, things are actually looking up. Lycanthropes don't faze Anna. Doctoring a wolf pack outside Grundy, Alaska, is the closest thing to home life she's known in years. But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham - that's a risk. Part of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. The rest is trying unsuccessfully to keep her own paws off every delicious inch of him.

The problem is, Caleb employs his lupine tracking abilities as a not-quite-legal bounty hunter, and Anna is suspicious of both him and his profession. On the run from her past, with old problems closing in, she'd like to stay far, far away from anybody with connections to the law. Caleb, however, seems determined to keep her close. Are his intentions noble, or is he working a more predatory angle?

Anna's been dreaming of returning to a semi-normal life, but now she's experiencing a strange new urge...to join Caleb in running with the wolves.

laugh out loud

Molly Harper is great, sense of humor and a talent for making the unbelievable, believable. I have a soft spot for Ronconi and can not imagine the series without her.

Delightul and engaging

Molly keeps her signature smart characters and delightful banter. The reader does a terrific job. She has a really great voice for this book. Clear characters w/o goofy accents or distracting ticks. Highly recommend.

best yet of the Werewolf series

I don't normally take time to type reviews but had to make an exception here. This is the 17th book of Molly Harper's library that I have listened to and the ending had me misty. It is my favourite of the Werewolf series by far. No spoils but the main character is the first I have really identified with as much as the Half Moon Hollow central circle. As a surviour of similar things in the story Molly captures it with logic & dignity. Great listen & of course Amanda Ronconi is like hearing from a familiar friend.

A more serious topic but still alot of humor

I was anxious about getting this one because reviewers where saying it deals with a more serious topic, and I don't know about you but I read Ms. Harpers books for their hilarity. Well nothing to fear, while it does deal with a more serious issue, there is plenty of hilarity still in this book.

love, love, love this author and narrator!

The narrative is just about flawless, making it seem that it was written just for her to read. I get so engrossed in the story that I hate to pause it long enough to work! lol

Excellent, but not as good as book 1

Any additional comments?

Molly Harper and Amanda Ronconi are an amazing duo for audio books. I couldn't miss this one, and wont miss future ones. The story only gets 4 out of 5 as while I really enjoyed the listen, it was not as good as "How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf" book one in the series (but better, in my opinion than book 2). Really, it should be a 4.5.

With this book, Harper has developed the relationship between to likeable and funny characters, and she has kept this series going in a fun direction.

Recommended for all lovers of Harper and Ronconi. For new-bees to the series, start on book one.

Love Harper's Werewolves more and more!

I love Molly Harper's writing style so very much and this book was right up there with the rest of her books. This one was a little more intense and it pulled at my heart a little more like her stand alone And One Last Thing..That book was so good that I was laughing and cringing at situations like I was there and this book was just like that. This book had me nervous at times on what Anna was going to do or not do it had me falling for Caleb with his calmness and humor. I love all of the werewolf books of course but Caleb is my favorite Graham now. I really hope there are more in this series or at least spin offs like Half Moon Hollow has. I can't wait for Molly Harper's next book and I hope that too is read by Amanda Ronconi since she always does an amazing job.

A fun and heartfelt finale

In our final visit to the werewolves of Grundy, we're introduced to the pack doctor Anna Moder, who after a call from a friend has to flee her job suddenly and without warning. We meet up with her on the run and working in a grocery store, where a chance meeting with gunshot victim Caleb, who happens to be a werewolf, we see them run together on adventures of bounty hunting.

Molly Harper weaves a great story around a tale of domestic violence with a strong character who is not just a helpless victim. She's a strong character who has a lot of work ahead of her as she tries to make a life for herself. We get a lot of the usual snark, flirting, romance, and fun you'd come to expect from a Harper book, but we also get a serious task of understanding domestic violence and how our heroine deals with it, how it started, and how she handles her relationships with others.

I applaud her for tackling this very tough subject, and she does it in such a way where's it alleviates some of the more uncomfortable aspect with humor, but doesn't make light of them.

Amanda Ronconi give a great performance as usual and doesn't disappoint, but I will say she her heroines are all starting to sound the same or very similar.
