Even in Grundy, Alaska, its unusual to find a naked guy with a bear trap clamped to his ankle on your porch. But when said guy turns into a wolf, recent southern transplant Mo Wenstein has no difficulty identifying the problem. Her surly neighbor Cooper Graham, who has been openly critical of Mo's ability to adapt to life in Alaska, has trouble of his own. Werewolf trouble.
For Cooper, an Alpha in self-imposed exile from his dysfunctional pack, its love at first sniff when it comes to Mo. But Cooper has an even more pressing concern on his mind. Several people around Grundy have been the victims of wolf attacks, and since Cooper has no memory of what he gets up to while in werewolf form, hes worried that he might be the violent canine in question.
If a wolf cries wolf, it makes sense to listen, yet Mo is convinced that Cooper is not the culprit. Except if hes not responsible, then who is? And when a werewolf falls head over haunches in love with you, what are you supposed to do anyway? The rules of dating just got a whole lot more complicated.

I really enjoyed the story but there are odd brakes in the narrative when the voice randomly changes...it pulls you right out of the story!
The story is fairly typical of the genre, enjoyable without being Earth-shattering. The narrator, however, could have been more carefully selected. The romantic lead's "husky baritone" was neither husky nor baritone-like. Instead, the narrator sounded more like she had laryngitis. We will not even address her Mississippi Southern drawl or lack thereof. I would have enjoyed this much more had it been read by a more accomplished narrator.
I have read all of Molly Harpers books and they are all wonderful. She mixes a compelling story with laugh out loud sarcasm and wit. Highly recommend.
Harbinger of Books
All in all it is simply a fun book! I think it was funny and sweet without being sappy. The world building was great and the characters were even better
Laugh out loud funny at times. If you like early Mary Janice Davidson, you'll like this. The narrator is pretty good, her male voices aren't the best but they get the job done. I will be purchasing more from Molly Harper for sure.
Need a little comic relief? Then listen to this silly book. The narrator does such a great job, really well done.
Molly Harper is my new favorite author....I just love her snarky humor and how nothing is perfect in the main character's life...it makes them more relatable. Although the book did feel a little like Twlight, like the romance between Bella & Jake and the whole werewolf thing....I was able to get over it, because the romance in this book is completely for adults only! And after listening to this book it makes me want to move to Alaska just to see if I find me one of those hunky werewolves, who apparently don't attack humans!
I was at first a little hesitant because the title just seemed so silly. I'll get pretty much any werewolf book I can find, so I kept it on my wish list to look over some more. What really got me interested were all the positive comments I saw. Upon finishing this audio book I have to agree with a lot of what was said! And the title actually fits really well with the mood of the book! Some of the wordage used in this story was unexpected and really great, and the characters were nicely varied and unique. Mo's parents and her interaction with them was wonderful, I loved every minute of it. I have to admit the amount of sex in the book as a bit much, I wasn't offended and I didn't really mind it but that sort of thing really isn't for me-I'm more into the action and the meat of a story. The narrator was good, she had different voices for each character-which to me makes for a great audio book, and while I would have loved to have heard her speak with that southern accent that everyone in the book seemed to love hearing Mo speak with, the narrator still did a good job. She was a great choice for Mo and did her snarky personality justice.
This book has it all. Kid running far away from crazy parents - family disputes - nosy people - bad boy drama - danger - sex and Werewolfs. Even had comedy! Nice break from Charlaine Harris and
This book even gives the woman-in-love-with-sexy-superhuman-guy the power to CHOOSE whether she wants to be with him or not. I haven't checked to see if this is a series, but I definitely look forward to reading more of Ms. Harper's work. And the NARRATOR, Amanda Ronconi, is one of the BEST I've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
