'Tis the season to join Cat and Bones for some holiday cheer in this Night Huntress novella by USA Today and New York Times best-selling author Jeaniene Frost.
They were looking forward to a normal holiday - at least as "normal" as it gets for vampires Cat and Bones and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a mysterious stranger shows up and reveals long-buried secrets that threaten to take a bite out of their holiday cheer - and lives.

I am an avid listener. I listen between 75-100 hours per month on my iPhone: 60% fiction to 40% non-fiction.
This is a very quick listen. As with all novella they have to jump in, get to the action and resolve fast. Its a solid listen. Other than the brother thing, we don't learn too much. I usually am not a fan of point-five listens, but this one passes muster. Nail this one on the way to work.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
It's great to get another slice of what's been happening in Bones and Cat's Vampire lives (or deaths)..... even if it is just a brief visit it's still so wonderfully worthwhile. Bones is happily celebrating his birthday (which is weeks before Xmas) when suddenly there's a phone call and the trouble starts from there but it's when he's introduced to someone new that things really get scary for them.
It may only be 3.5 hrs long but boy does it pack a lot in.... there's drama, angst, humor, demons, a good v evil battle, heartbreak, romance and even sex during a life or death struggle as another entity forces the pair to risk everything in order to save themselves..... and some of there friends too.
Worth a credit? If, like me, you're a fan of this series then I'm sure you'll agree that it's just great to rejoin the Night Huntress much loved characters which were all beautifully portrayed by Tavia Gilbert's talented narration whose voice brings this series to life. I don't usually like or listen to short stories but getting a new book in this series is like getting a gift and it's one I'd have happily used a credit on but at under $10 I bought it and saved my credit for a longer, more expensive, but maybe not as enjoyable and exciting a listen.
The idea of Cat and Ian work together,,, that is unexpected.
When Cat goes to meet Ian, and what happens after... that is something.
The rescue of the Bone's friends.
Wonnderful. In my opinion, this story could have become a book of the series, there are so many things that could be exploited
I would recommend this book to any who are fans of the Night Huntress series. The usual team is present. Action and toe curling love scenes will keep you entertained. Great book!
I love the way she writes and the complexity of the cat and bones stories and this one was no exception. Even though this one was shorter, it was no less enjoyable.
The nerrator for her books does another excellent job for the narrative.
OMG I loved this book! It was short of course as it is a novella but OMG it is so worth it. I loved every second of this book!
"Brilliant as Always"
Jeaniene frost is always a great listen, this story fits in between one of the night huntress novellas so only listen if you already know the previous ones otherwise you are going to be totally confused and it explains some of the stuff mentioned in the next book.
As always the narrator is brilliant and captures all the characters perfectly especially bones, and the story has a lovely flow to it.
The story is of cat & bones celebrating a Xmas with friends (those of the main group of bones's line) and "family". A mysterious guest comes to the Xmas celebrations with troublesome consequences following, causing at several emotion scenes especially when bones nearly kills cat!! So moving!!! Despite I am aware there was another book after this I still questioned whether the whole gang is able to survive it? So I am not going to give anymore away ..... Hurry up and find somewhere quiet so that you can listen to this relatively short story (compared with others in series) and go on an emotional roller coaster of tear, laughter and held breath in dubious expectation!
"Always enjoyable read"
Ever since I heard Janine Frost's books and the narrator tavia Gilbert I have been hooked, tavia Gilbert is an amazing narrator and as long as she continues to read Janine Frost books I will enjoy them but I do enjoy the storylines and the plots as well, it feels like bones and cat Are very good friends and I love reading about their adventures. Thank you Janine Frost keep up the good work.
