Boring

I was bored and did not finish the book. Even the sex was boring. Maybe best read instead of listened to.
Antony Ferguson was great as always.

Retuning after first chapter - bad narration

Stop using Antony Ferguson. Unbearable. The listener spends so much time trying to interpret the odd cadence and weird pauses that you miss the sentence itself. Also lacks the talent to do women’s voices. Would have liked to have heard this story, but not worth the aggravation.

Not worth the read...

Story mostly based on actual history and historical figures, but told as a series of lustfully romantic vignettes. Character development is very shallow, although the various physical descriptions are plentiful and soon grow very boring. The story becomes almost soft porn, lunging from one physical encounter to another.

Oh no! Same narrator! Never buy 2 books at once!!!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A different narrator would have earned the novel a 3 star, anyway.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The narration is intolerable.

What didn’t you like about Antony Ferguson’s performance?

Halting. No regard for punctuation or normal sentence cadence and intonation.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. I purchased several in the series at one time. NEVER will I buy more than one book at a time in a series. I wasted so much money on this narrator. Frustration. Anger. Completely distracted from the story.

At this point, I am keeping a file of narrator's names to avoid on my computer and keeping that file open when purchasing a book. Lesson learned.

I didnt like much at all about this book. It wasnt very excitig and was to expected.

Found a way to make it as it was her choice.

What would have made Highlander Untamed better?

A story that moved along at more than a snails pace. A stronger female character.

Has Highlander Untamed turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I have listened to several other authors and always enjoyed them.

Would you be willing to try another one of Antony Ferguson’s performances?

No. Too staccato.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Highlander Untamed?

I couldn't make it past three hours into the book and felt all of that preamble should have taken about ten minutes.

Not worth the credit

Nothing here but n h who quivers and H who growls. The only tension is waiting for the inevitable F which I don’t care bout because the characters are so shallow. I was hoping for a Good highland yarn with the passion, but who cares. This story is so poorly told with NO history really that I will shifting this off my device. Never again for this author.
