Publisher's summary

The heat is on when a curse Viking clashes with the woman of his dreams.

Over a thousand years ago, a witch hexed four charming Viking brothers, each with one of the four elements. They live with these curses today, doomed to suffer for their past crimes forever.

Mikkel just might be too hot to handle. He's an immortal Viking, cursed to burst into an uncontrollable ball of fire when enraged. After centuries of tragedy, Mikkel fears the fury within him will endanger anyone he lets get too close.

When Joanna--a smart, sexy engineer angry at the world--explodes into his life, Mikkel can't resist her smoldering allure. Has the time finally come to let someone in and embrace the fire? Or will they be scorched by their fiery passion?

This mature romance includes incendiary bar room shenanigans, high-speed car escapades, and a love strong enough to heal even the most damaged of hearts.

This STANDALONE novella is part of the "Her Elemental Viking" series which can be read in any order. There are no cliffhangers, and each short ends as it should: happily ever after.

Note - Each book in the Her Elemental Viking series stands on its own and can be listened to in any order.

Just ok

I had a hard time staying with this book. It was not at all what I expected. The narration was okay, but not my favorite. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Viking & Heroine - Anger Management Couples

Her Fiery Viking began with Mikkel (Mike), a demolition specialist, is being a lady's man. He doesn't do relationship because of his curse until he meets Joanne. No one knows that he is thousand years old Viking or the fact that he can burst into a ball of fire when angered.

Joanne (Jo), is angered at the world since her sister died. Her temper has cost her several jobs. This time, she was going to control her temper because she really need a job and can't be fired again.

From the moment that Mike met Joanne, he was attracted to her. When they both showed up at the same anger counseling, they were surprised. Their relationship changed to being co-workers and lovers.

When Jo's life is endangered, Mike has to control his temper or his curse to burst into a fireball might kill the woman he loves.

This is an enjoyable short story to read and listen to. Everything that the readers/listeners need to know, is presented into the story. The story has a plot, conflict, and a villain. However the ending ended too abruptly regarding his past being revealed to Jo. A story with a hero and heroine who have anger management issues.

The narrator, Audrey Lusk, provided perfect voices for Mike and Jo. Both have anger issues and the narrator reflected that anger in both characters. When Mike and Jo were working through their anger with each other, the narrator showed when both realized that they were good for each other in keeping their anger in check.

I was given this audiobook by the author/narrator/publisher via Audiobook Blast in exchange of an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

A HOT Viking!

Her fiery viking is a quick, short listen that brings together two people who have had to deal with life's circumstances and find a way to go on. They didn't know how much they had lost, but they were drawn to each other.
Mikail was a sexy Viking that had lost everything he held dear and he had to find a way to deal with the anger that it had caused. During an anger management meeting, he sees a woman who set him off!
Joanna had anger management issues of her own. She tried to deal with the anger and this is what brought her into Mikail's realm!
The two together help each other, but the anger doesn't completely go away. It creates a bond that the two can't deny.
This was the first book I listened to from the author and it was definitely a good listen. I loved to see where the two went.

Will Mikkel be able to overcome his curse?

Her Fiery Viking by AJ Tipton was a quick listen that wasn't, in my opinion, as "hot damn" as Audible rated it as far as how steamy it is. Anyways, this is the story of Mikkel and Joanna. Mikkel is a viking and has been cursed for years and years. If he gets too angry he bursts into a huge fireball, destroying everything in the immediate vicinity. Joanna is an engineer hired to do a job for Mikkel's company. That's inconsequential to the story for the most part, as much of the book is about these two and their attraction to each other, their anger about things that happened in the past, etc. There's a baddie that interferes as well, and Mikkel has to deal with him without exploding. You do get your HEA, though I honestly wasn't attached to these characters, so I didn't really care.

Audrey Lusk did a decent job with the narration. Oftentimes, actors don't add enough emotion to their performances. Ms. Lusk had ample emotion in her narration and her regular reading voice was fine. When she did her different character voices though, she lost me a bit. I just didn't care for them as much as I'd hoped. I'd definitely give another one of her performances a shot in the future though. Ahhh, I Needed More!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this story to anyone looking for a complete short story with no cliffhangers. Even though this is a short story, it does contact interesting characters, action and some intense sexual scenes.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I would loved for this story to have been a bit longer. I really like the plot, and the sexual tension between the sexy cursed Viking, Mikkel, and the sexy engineer, Joana, and how he saves her in the nick of time. However, I felt if some of the scenes were expanded it would have made this an awesome read.

Did Audrey Lusk do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

This was the first story I heard narrated by Audrey Lusk, and thought she did a decent job.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were no moments that actually move me but there were some scenes I really enjoyed. What happened in the back of the bar was "hot" and what happened to Joanna before the building exploded.

Any additional comments?

One Raging Viking + One Raging Woman = Combustion

After his wife and kids were killed Mikkel became one very angry Viking who was hexed by a witch over a 1,000 years ago. After being cursed whenever Mikkel's anger gets out of control he becomes a fireball incinerating everything and one around him, The curse also includes immortality until the curse is lifted.

Joana ia a modern day woman fighting her own inner rage and anger cumulating from the death of her beloved sister by a drunk driver.

Both Mikkel (Mike) and Joana work in demolitions as a why to channel their rage.

Can they help each other control their anger. They are attracted to each other. Will Joana's love cure Mike?

This was a nice short listen. Not a great book but enjoyable.

Fiery Viking

Interesting Story- quite unique. I liked that the characters were both working through something in which they could relate. I liked the paranormal glimpse we got but wish there would have been more. I think this book is perfect for the romance package- a short interesting read.

I was a little torn on the narration. Narration itself was good but the voice just felt off for the characters. That being said, it was clear and articulate. I just didn't feel it was a good match in this story.

A Steamy Story

A centuries old cursed Viking and an anger impaired demolition engineer have some hot times together in this steamy love story. Short, sweet and enough to steam up a cold winter night. I found it a fun and a well read story that I'd listen to again.
