Publisher's summary

Dr. Cindy Shahi is resigned to being mateless, but her inner jaguar has needs that must be sated. An encounter with a deliciously sexy stranger is the perfect chance for a night of no-strings primal passion.

Elias was content to be a lone wolf until the moment he laid eyes - and much more - on Cindy. Their intense attraction can mean only one thing: The mating call. And when it becomes clear someone isn't happy about their budding relationship, all of Elias's protective instincts go on high alert. He'll do anything to keep Cindy safe - and convince her that he intends to claim her as his own, no matter what.

A jaguar and wolf love story.

This is what you expect from a romantic short story. A very quick romance with a wolf, that has a protective instinct when a stalker starts to cause trouble. This book is part of a series, although this annoyed me because I didn't realize when I bought the book. It can be read alone, but it does mention other characters and you can tell there is a story for them. Narrator was way to breathy, mostly because she was trying a little too hard to be sexy.

Finding a mate they never thought they'd have.

Similar to the first book in the series, A Jaguar's Kiss, this one was quick and held a bit of danger and some steamy sex. Cindy is the local doctor and a jaguar shifter. After two years without, she wants sex. Badly. But she doesn't want to deal with any sort of territorial, possessive shifter male from town and the resulting drama. No, she needs a transient. At the reception for Owen and Gabriela's wedding, she finds someone from out of town. Perfect, right?

Elias has recently left the military after blowing out his knee as a result of a parachuting accident after which he couldn't shift into his wolf to heal quickly and properly. Having served with Owen prior to his coming home to be alpha, Elias has been invited to join his pack as Owen's second, which hasn't been announced yet. So when Cindy asks about Elias being from around there, he tells her the truth, but not that he's staying.

The day after meeting Elias finds Cindy to begin his courting of her. After being confronted by a local of six months who's set on Cindy, she becomes victim to first vandalism and then threats to her life. As the local sheriff works on solving these crimes, Cindy and Elias have a pretty good idea who it is. It, of course, becomes Elias' mission to protect Cindy, which he accomplishes. The two find their HEA by the end of the book and there is no cliffhanger. This book could be read as a stand-alone if desired.

While I liked the narrator's (Alexandra Fisher) voice, it didn't have much for range. The male voices sounded much like the female voices and the voices of different characters also sounded very similar.
