This second book of the "Giving Series" picks up exactly where book one ends. If you think you are going to get a respite from the mystery and suspense in this book then think again. You feel as if you are blind folded on the tallest roller coaster with unending twists and turns. Honestly, after I finished this book, I went and bought the Kindle edition of book three because I couldn't stand the torture. Lol. And now, after finishing book 3 I can now say that all the torture was worth it.
I can't say enough about the narration of Tracy Marks. She truly makes these books come alive. This book also included the narration of Thomas Donohoe for Adams POV. Although he did a great job, because he wasn't included in book one, I already had a different voice for Adam in my "Minds Ear". So he didn't sound like my Adam. Lol
Note: This book has explicit sex and very strong language. Adults only. I would also like to say that I think this series was good enough on its own and truly didn't need all the sex or strong language. It would have been just as good.

Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. - Plato
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a Rollercoaster ride, lots of ups and downs. I could not wait for the next audiobook to come out so I got the Kindle version.
There is suspense, drama, and romance. So many misunderstanding between Adam and Mia. He drove me nuts in this book. Very frustrating behavior but it was so worth it! Book 3 sorts everything out! Looking forward to the audio version soon!
The narrator did a great job bringing the story to live! The story is told in dual POV my favorite! I love knowing what both main characters are thinking and where they are coming from!
Thanks for writing an amazing story! I throughly enjoyed every minute of it!

Too busy to read as much as I'd like, Audible is the perfect solution. I'm a romance reader mostly, but can stray into any story.
This book picks up right where the last left off and we are once again placed in Mia and Adam's world.
While I was head over heels in love with book 1, I was left a little frustrated with this book. 65% of it is misunderstandings and Mia and Adam not saying what they are thinking, therefore everything is taken the wrong way and more misunderstandings occurred. I wish there would have been more of the mystery and drama with the crime family Adam was involved with, just a little more meat.
That being said, LM Carr is a fantastic author who has made me a believer and I will listen or read whatever she writes about Adam and Mia because I am so addicted to these characters. Mia is a strong female who has been hurt in ways that has shaped her into a very guarded person, so it is no wonder that she doesn't trust Adam with the truth. And Adam has his head so far up his rear, he is going to need Mia to hold his hand through a relationship. He doesn't catch Mia's cues and never just says what he should.
I can't wait to read or listen to book 3. I will be honest, I can't wait until book 3 comes out in audio to finish the trilogy, so I'm going to download it now to find out how their story ends.
Mia & Adam.. I needed more when I finished the first book & this one didn't disappoint. I NEED book 3 on audio ..like now. I can't handle the cliffhanger I'm left with at the end of this book. There is some serious build up going on and I need answers, which I'm sure I'll get in the next book. The narrator's were great. I liked the dual POV in this audio. I think Tracy Marks is so perfect for Mia. She really makes to audio for me. I look forward to the next one.

I am absolutely in love with this trilogy story, characters, and narration so much that I went ahead and purchased the other two Kindle ebooks in the series and upgraded the second book to audio. I am captivated by the characters that are splendidly brought to life by the talented narrator. The story is intriguing with lots of suspense and twists and turns, and a heart wrenching romance love story. The characters (especially the kids) are easy to fall in love with and tug on your heart-strings. You want to hate some characters and love some others. I highly recommend this series. I am on chapter 16 of the third book and in love with the trilogy even more. I don't think I will get any sleep until I am finished.
I loved having both POVs. Both Tracy and Thomas did a fantastic job on this book. I cant wait to hear more from these two.
I loved the growth of the couple, they show that life is not always easy and sometimes the right thing to-do is not always the easiest
I have listened to Tracy and she is amazing in all her work. After you have listen to all LM Carrs books you should look up Tracy's other work she truly is amazing.
I loved the whole book, from start to the end.
I now love/hate LM Carr! This book/books are so amazing I love her for writing them and I hate her for making me wait for book 3. This is Part 2 of 3, if you don't want to invest in a three part story this is not for you but you will miss out on a great story!

I really hoped to enjoy this audiobook over a week or two but nope! I just spent the whole day glued to my headphones just to find out what happens. LM Carr just shot up to one of my favorite authors. I cried maybe 4-5 times today because of the heart wrenching scenes with Mia and Adam but mostly due to the parts with the kids, especially Luke. If my internal clock wasn't already ticking it would be in overdrive now!
This trilogy is romantic, heartbreaking, suspenseful, and hopeful. Listen to it, read it, whichever you prefer but just do it!
Tracy Marks performed wonderfully as usual and had me whisked away into the story even more so. Thomas Donohoe wasn't the voice I had expected for Adam but gave a convincing and passionate performance.
The only bad I have to say is that the third audiobook isn't published yet but even that is remedied by the written word...I've already gone and purchased it in book form so that I don't have to wait. Clearly I have no patience!
I've been gifted this book by the author, narrator, or publisher in exchange for an honest review.
Yes. I enjoy the dialogue and the fact that the story parallels a real world relationship and the hurdles that can come with them.
Mia finally got to lay the smack down, but in the end it was brief and she moved past it to focus on other parts if her life. The path Mia follows is true to a real life situation and how it would play out. It shows how everyone has their weak points and it takes real strength to build yourself again.
Loved having both POV's in this book, and the narrative to go with it. Excellent performances, my only critic would be that at times Thomas had some breif pauses in mid sentences that made the dialogue seem stuttered or stilted, but when those moments happened they were brief, and it didn't take away from the story for me.
For the last half of the book, I was full of suspense waiting for the secret to be discovered by Adam. There are so many moments where I felt like yelling, "almoat! Just look up, check the cabinet, look at mail!" It had me clutching my hands in anticipation for the discovery.
This was the second book and the continuation from book one had it starting right where it left off. I didn't really get why Adam acted the way he did, to that extreme, and I felt that some of the suspense built moments from book one should have been carried over or string a long a little longer in this book than they did. For instance the constant dog barking in the woods, was a big indicator in book one but that plot line just seemed to fade away, and got wrapped up in a nice neat now fairly quick, and with not follow through on particulars. However that cleared the way for a stronger focus on the relationship story line and I was not disappointed by that at all. It had a real life feel to it, and most characters reactions were spot on in the various scenarios that helped to build the story. I would definitely recommend this series. Both narrators performed Mia and Adam really well. I loved the dual narration and felt that it worked very well here.
I loved the first book and couldn't wait to dive into this one. The story was a little bit slow but at the same time I couldn't switch it off and ended up listening at every opportunity. I was expecting a little bit of intrigue or suspense but the story centred round Mia and Adam's break up and its aftermath. Adam has turned into quite an unlikable character and acts like a total ass to Mia and the children. He has much to do to convince Mia (and the reader) that he truly loves her and isn't going to leave when the going gets tough.
I love the scenes that involve any of Mia's friends. She has a great group of friends who stick by her and stand up for her when the need arises. They are also quite funny and add a little bit of humour to the story.
I am quite addicted to this series and I have to know what happens next. Book 3 here I come.
