Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Lori Foster is an expert in drawing you into a story from the very first sentence. Like all of her wonderful books the story centres around a Charming protective and Sexy as Hell Alpha male. Rowdy is the ultimate in male perfection.....
Avery spends her nights working for tips… and trying to forget the secret Rowdy is determined to unearth. But when history threatens to repeat itself, Avery grows to rely on Rowdy’s protective presence. As the sparks between them ignite, she will be forced to choose between the security she’s finally found… and the passion she’s always wanted.
I would rank this book in my top 3! It has everything you look for in a love story. Hot sex, happiness, sadness, suspense, mystery and lots of love.
Everything!!! From the love story of Rowdy and Avery to the love story of the couples from the previous books( their friends and family). Also bringing in some new characters that added a lot to the story and should lead to other great books by Lori Foster.
When she went to his condo after the argument. She stood up to Rowdy and didn't back down. She got what she went there for!
The HOT linking of two lost souls.
Lori Foster did it again!! This book was Great!!! What more can I say?
Rowdy is my favorite...tough on the outside and soft on the inside

Love this book. It can be read alone but I love all the book in this series. A Must Buy.
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
While Lori Foster is an excellent writer, some of her characters just didn't seem realistic to me. I wanted to enjoy Getting Rowdy but kept thinking "Get Real".
First, there's Rowdy (30) who was a hard working man who protected his younger sister Pepper from their selfish and alcoholic parents as children. After their deaths when Rowdy was 18, he kept Pepper safe and supported her by any means necessary. However, despite being a wonderful, caring big brother, Rowdy treated all other women like Kleenex - use once then throw away.
Next, there's Avery (30), raised in upper class family, but "ran away" after friend of the family (Fisher) attempted rape. For some strange reason, Avery decided to live in really bad neighborhood and work at a sleazy bar, when she likely had a college education. Avery also took the bus home at 2 am rather than drive her expensive car. Why not sell that car & buy an economy model that wouldn't stand out.
Rowdy became Avery's boss when he bought the bar and attempted to make it a nice, neighborhood place - maybe like Cheers. No, wait - the bar was in a dangerous area where drugs and crime were rampant. When Avery started getting threatening phone calls, possibly from Fisher, she didn't tell Rowdy or his police friends. Then Avery took Rowdy home to see her sick mother and put up with abuse from her stepfather and Fisher.
Although parts of the story were interesting and funny, I just didn't buy Rowdy's sudden change from promiscuous to eager for a committed relationship. And didn't understand how Avery's mother, supposedly a caring & intelligent woman, didn't believe her own daughter. Unless I'm reading fantasy or science fiction, I expect the plot to be more plausible.
First time listener, I thought I'd really like this author, but it was way to much sex ...so much to the extent that I had to start skipping the sex scenes to get through. If you take out some of the sex I would have given this a strong 4. The narrator was good.
Like the other series, it's a good book, and I liked the plot, but too much sex, I mean the same sex scene all the time, in all the series....two finger's.....once would have been enough, but I think Lori got carried away..
It was hard to follow the story and characters. The narrator's voice was somewhat monotone, without much inflection.
