Publisher's summary

A clandestine race of half-dragon, half-humans known as dragon-shifters lives among us. Bastian, leader of the Nightfury dragon clan, is sworn to protect humankind at all costs. For him, honor and duty always come first. When the clan dictates he take a human mate to sire a son, he falters, aware that for a human to birth a dragon-shifter she must die. Myst, the woman given into his care, is the most extraordinary he’s ever met, and though he can’t bear the thought of harming her, he is bound by duty.

Myst loves her life in the human world, but Bastian has captured her heart in an instant of electric connection. But Bastian and his warriors are in the middle of a deadly battle with the Razorback dragon-shifters, intent on killing every Nightfury clan member - and the humans they protect - the fate of their world and ours hangs in the balance. An extraordinary blend of action, fantasy, and steamy romance, Fury of Fire brings to life a dangerous new world intertwined with the survival of humanity, all while exploring the meaning of honor and the nature of true love.

Good start to a series...

What did you love best about Fury of Fire?

I've been reading about vampire, vampires, vampires in this genre and here is a book about dragons. It's a nice change.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fury of Fire?

In the beginning, where Mist's friend lay dying.

What does Benjamin L. Darcie bring to the story that you wouldn???t experience if you just read the book?

He brings the story to life. That's why I enjoy audiobooks so much. The narrator can create the voices and accents better than I can in my head.

Any additional comments?

It had a bit of predictability to it, but it was still an interesting start to a series.

Great Dragon Battle Scenes!

Recently I have had a thing for dragon shifter stories, mostly because I think of myself as a dragon woman, especially when I get angry. So I look forward to adding new dragon and dragon stories to my TBR list. I came across this one and thought I would give it a shot.

When the story starts out, Myst Munroe, a regular lady working as a nurse, comes across a bad situation where a pregnant lady lays dying. Try as she might, she is unable to save the mother, but is able to save the child. Enter the dragon! Before Myst is able to get away from the situation, her and two paramedics are attacked … by dragons! Sounds great right? So much potential in such a great start.

There were many things I liked about the story. The fight scenes between the different dragon factions were pretty awesome. The different abilities of the dragons were pretty cool too. I wasn’t too keen on the fact they couldn’t go out during the daytime, but each author has to make their dragons unique, so it was okay.

There were a few things that just didn’t sit well with me. For example, if you have a dragon lair that you can only enter by a cave entrance behind a waterfall and a ‘force field’ that makes it so you cannot sneak in. What the heck was with the cars and driveway when Myst needed to escape?????

I will probably read the next in the series just to see if Ms. Callahan will let our dragons soar or if they will be shot down in flames.

The Narration Review
This audiobook was narrated by Benjamin L. Darcie and I really enjoyed his narration. His voice was clear and his character voices were easily distinguishable. When it came to the more steamy scenes, Benjamin’s voice and tone rose and fell with the perfect tempo making me hang on every word.

I loved this book!!!!

If you could sum up Fury of Fire in three words, what would they be?

Fast! Exciting! Addictive!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fury of Fire?

When Mist was being interrogated by the police and could sense the dragons coming to get her.

Have you listened to any of Benjamin L. Darcie’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I thought he did a decent job with this story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really. I just like the story line and how it was told. I am happy that it wasn't about vampires.

Good read

Would you consider the audio edition of Fury of Fire to be better than the print version?

I would definitely prefer to listen to this book over reading it. I think the narrator did a great job of letting the listener know each character.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I would have to say Mist, she was extremely strong willed.

What does Benjamin L. Darcie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Knowing the differences between each person/dragon in the book.

Wonderful modern dragon romance

I have read and enjoyed all of Ms Callahan's Dragonfury books. Now I am enjoying listening to them too. The detailed descriptions, fabulous depth of the characters, and the storyline keep me interested all the way through. I was surprised at the different things I picked up on by listening to the story over reading it myself. I loved the story and Dragon fury world all over again.
