Publisher's summary

It's Christmas in Half-Moon Hollow and newly turned vampire Iris Scanlon-Calix wants to make Gigi's first visit home from college as normal and special as possible. It's taken months for Iris to work up the nerve to spend time around her baby sister after her vampire transition, so she enlists help from Jane Jameson and Company to keep her blood-thirst under control and assure Gigi's safety. Gigi, on the other hand, has problems of her own, including the demise of her relationship with high school sweetheart, Ben, and a looming job interview with Ophelia Lambert, the scariest potential employer in the Hollow. And then there's the small matter of the handsome, frustrating vampire who keeps appearing in Gigi's peripheral vision, then disappearing before she can talk to him. Can the Scanlon sisters negotiate romantic problems, vampire politics, and Christmas cookie disasters and enjoy a relatively normal holiday?

A must have!

Ok, usually I read not only the info on the book, but the reviews others have done on a book before purchasing. This time though, I bought without even finding out who the story was about. Molly Harper books are a must have for me - many times I am pre-ordering them before they are even released. She has a great sense of humor and has a great imagination that comes through in her stories. But back to the fact that I hadn't read the summary of the book first, the only complaint I had for this book was that Gigi didn't introduce herself so it was only by the fact that I have read every story previously that I figured out who the story was about. Usually in the books, the character introduces themselves - but that in no way effects the story. I also loved getting a look at Iris after her transformation as that was where her story left off, and how Cal had grown as an over-protective father figure in Gigi's life. I sooooooo wish I knew when Gigi's full story was coming out as now I am very eager to read it next. So if you have read the Half Moon Hollow series - you need this story. If you haven't - please start with Jane's story "Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs." The series and the spin-offs for the other characters are awesome.

Light,witty, fun.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes. Light read. But still a good undead story.

Has I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, the opposite. Sometimes I need a respite from the serious lit I usually read.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I liked her sarcastic comedy.

Could you see I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Sure. I know this dates me but I could see Lucille Ball, Rosemary Clooney and Gloria Gaynor in their younger days in this film. Tyrone Power and Robert Mitchum as the male leads!

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book. Fun and entertaining. I will be looking up Molly Harper.

Very enjoyable

This was a fun book to listen to! I am always happy when there is not a lot of swearing/graphic romance. The interplay between all of the family members was great with some surprises. For a short book, there was a lot of story.

Audie Freebee

This was a free give away, I'm glad I did not spend money on it. I have enjoyed all of the Molly Harper books that I have read, however, for me, this one was not written at the same caliber. It is a short story with too much of the first half over-filled with the characters in the series introductions. If I had not read the first book in the series it would have been too many characters to keep straight. There are some funny moments but just not as "merry" as I would have liked for a Christmas read.

Amanda Ronconi always does a spectacular job narrating, just not much of that feel good, funny writing that she can spin into the story so well.

Too short!!

I love these characters and I love Amanda Ronconi. I wanted more. It is not a complete story. I am really hoping the next book will be a Gigi story.

So much fun

If you could sum up Free: I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas in three words, what would they be?

Funny, sassy, engaging

What did you like best about this story?

Gigi is a character I liked in the first of the series and I'm glad to get to get a little more of her story as an adult. I also really enjoyed touching base with the rest of the crew from Half-Moon Hollow.

Any additional comments?

The books in this series are exactly what you'd want them to be, smartly written, funny and engaging. All of the characters are a kick and Amanda Ronconi brings them to life in a way that's fun to listen to. These are light, feel good and so much fun!

A conclusion?

The narrator did a good job at reading the story, however there didn't seem to be a true conclusion to it. What is with this mysterious blond guy? Who is he? Where is he? Why didn't the mind reading vampires know? It was decent, but since this is not a trilogy or longer series that i know of. It seems unfinished.
