Publisher's summary

When a gorgeous young dancer walks through his door, a strip club owner must decide whether to follow his rules or his heart in the third novel by the author of One Tiny Lie and Ten Tiny Breaths.

Owning a strip club isn't the fantasy most guys expect it to be. With long hours, a staff with enough issues to keep a psych ward in business, and the police regularly on his case, twenty-nine-year-old Cain is starting to second guess his unspoken mission to save the women he employs. And then blond, brown-eyed Charlie Rourke walks through his door, and things get really complicated. Cain abides by a strict "no sleeping with the staff" rule. But being around Charlie challenges Cain's self-control…and it's been a long time since any woman has done that.

Twenty-two-year-old Charlie Rourke needs a lot of money, really fast, in order to vanish before it's too late. Taking her clothes off for men makes her stomach curl but Charlie tells herself that at least she's putting her acting and dancing skills to good use. And though her fellow dancers seem eager to nab their sexy, sophisticated, and genuinely caring boss, she's not interested. After all, Charlie Rourke doesn't really exist - and the girl pretending to be her can't get distracted by romance.

Unfortunately, Charlie soon discovers that developing feelings for Cain is inevitable, and that those feelings may not be unrequited - but losing him when he finds out what she's involved with will be more painful than any other sentence awaiting her.

An honest to God superhero! Captain save-a-ho!!

In spite of myself, I really enjoyed this one. I love Caine! There are so many times and so Many people that I wanted to yell at in this book.
The friends, the Hero and the heroine. She was so naive and in such a dangerous profession that I am not sure how she survived that long.
The angst in this book kept me on the edge of my seat through out.

LOVED IT!

What made the experience of listening to Four Seconds to Lose the most enjoyable?

The most enjoyable experience for me was the narrators. I've listened to both narrators before and they help me to really get into the book more.

What did you like best about this story?

The overall plot was amazing. The story flowed pretty well and the characters were well-developed.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York – was your favorite?

Cain. Sebastian York has a beautiful voice. I could listen to him for hours. When I saw that he was the narrator for this book I automatically bought it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!

Crazy Hot Romance

Four Seconds to Lose held me riveted. Aside from being a crazy hot romance, there were dangerous drug deals, the cartel, secret identities, and a more in-depth peek inside the world of strip clubs. The third installment of this series stepped the drama up a notch with the addition of those more dangerous elements. The uniqueness of this book also shows how the author allows each story to be led by the individualism of each character.

Nothing is as it seems in this book at first, except for the genuine bond that clicks between Charlie and Cain. Charlie’s story is gut-wrenching and made me want to hug the adolescent version of her so she'd feel real love and family. Then tack onto that the story of Cain’s tragic past and twisted at my heart. These two have truly taken lemons and made lemonade by the end as they find their peace in each other.

Another MUST READ by author KA Tucker.

Entertaining

Would you consider the audio edition of Four Seconds to Lose to be better than the print version?

I cannot comment since I have not read the print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cain. Even though he had been through so much, he was still a kind and decent guy.

Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York – was your favorite?

Sebastian. He had an easy voice to listen to.
Elisabeth's performance was great but there were times when I found her voice a pitch too high for my comfort.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

No idea....

Any additional comments?

Worth the credit!

Nothing to Lose!

Where does Four Seconds to Lose rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rate Four Seconds a 7 on a 1-10 scale. Worth a 2nd read although not in my Top 10 list.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Elizabeth Louise fit Charli's character and Sebastian York always brings the sexy bad boys to life! I have a hard time with the duo narration, it doesn't flow well for me no matter who is narrating.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I finished this book in a single sitting the first time. I'm now listening for the third time!

Any additional comments?

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to buy into the characters and their back story with the drug slinging connections and the reformed bad boy who owns a strip club and an apartment building that houses his employees to help them find a safe and healthy life path. Really? But, it was well written and it flowed naturally. Overall, well written and narration was on point!

My favorite in the series

I really liked this one. I liked the mystery surrounding Charlie, and the stressful situations that followed her. Cain is a fantastic, strong alpha male character. I've enjoyed all of K.A. Tucker's books, but this one is up there as one of my favorites. I especially like how in this series she's tied all the characters in to one another, bringing them back to the same events to show that all of these stories are essentially happening at the same time.

Oh, and, well, Sebastian York has one hell of a sexy voice. Can't go wrong when he narrates...

Actually Enjoyed This!!!

What made the experience of listening to Four Seconds to Lose the most enjoyable?

It was a different story at least for me. I had not encountered a book with a story like this.

What does Elizabeth Louise and Sebastian York bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They step into the character and you actually believe you are listening to Charlie and Cain.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I just really, really enjoyed it. I could hardly stop listeining because I wanted to know how she was going to get out of her pickle.

Any additional comments?

Just a good book with good narration. I was not dissappointed.

Good, but dark

In this book, I was much more concerned for the main characters safety and not as much about their love story. Still a good book, but not one of my favorites. The narraters were both great, perfect for the role!
