Publisher's summary

The Buckhorn brothers return in two timeless tales from New York Times and USA TODAY best-selling author Lori Foster

"Gabe": Gabe Kasper, the heartthrob of Buckhorn County, Kentucky, can have any woman he wants. But it's prickly, uptight Elizabeth Parks who gets under his skin. She thinks Gabe's some kind of hero and wants an interview for her thesis. He doesn't consider pulling a couple of kids out of the lake heroic, but he'll answer her questions in exchange for kisses… and more.

"Jordan": Jordan Somerville thinks he wants a woman who's a paragon of virtue. But then the gentle veterinarian - rescuer of strays - meets Georgia Barnes, single mother and exotic dancer. She's a far cry from Jordan's dream woman - and she's made it clear that he's hardly her dream man, either. So why is he suddenly tempted to break all his own rules?

Sweet n sexy

This is the second book in the Buckhorn series and it actually includes two stories tht were originally published individually (Gabe and Jordan). I shouldn't have liked this book, the storyline has been used in countless Harlequin books... But I did, I really did like both stories. I think that the magic was how well Lori Foster builds the anticipation of the couple's first encounter. She's pretty intense writing that build up and she does not disappoint because her couples have amazing chemistry.

Gabe is the story of the playboy and carefree brother. Elizabeth is the virgin naive that wants to interview him for her thesis (about heroic acts). Jordan is the responsable veterinarian who falls head over heels with a single mother of two who just happens to be an exotic dancer. Both stories are predictable but at the same time they are so sweet and sexy that for me it was a credit well spent.

Narration: Isabelle Gordon is a good narrator. I actually liked her male voices better than the female ones. The females are between the ages of 22-25 but they sounded a bit too old. She did add emotion and excitement to the stories so I would listen to more books narrated by her.

The final installment of this series will be re released in October with the title The Buckhorn Legacy and it includes the story of Casey. I hope that it comes out as an audiobook because the story sounds just as sweet and sexy as all the previous ones.

Good book, awful narration!

I have always enjoyed Lori Foster’s books and really liked this story. BUT the narrator was just awful. All of the women in the book are in their 20’s and she gave them much older voices, the men all sounded like preadolescent boys.

Loving the Author and Narrator

GABE:

I'll start these reviews off by saying that I've enjoyed Isabelle Gordon's narration job on this series. She does a great job with both the male and female voices. She has a husky yet silky voice that lends well to both genders. She also does a really nice country accent for the characters. I'm a little sad to see that the last book in the series about Swayer's son will not on audio. But I will be reading it. Ok now on to the stories.....

We've all read the story about the beauty and the geek or in this case the sexy country man and the geeky beauty. Lori Foster writes it with hot sexual tension with a touch of humor and one hell of an emotional ride.

Gabe is the lovable man whore of the family. He's been getting tail since he was a teen. But one day this pain Jane red head comes to town to interview him for her college thesis and he is turned upside down by how much he wants her.

Elizabeth comes to Buckhorn with business in mind instead of having fun on her summer vacation. But with the help of Gabe she learns how to have fun of the steamy kind.

A sweet and hot romance buds between the two over the summer and they both find themselves attracted to their total opposite. If you are looking for a fast sweet read in the contemporary romance genre you really need to give Lori Foster a try and I recommend starting with her Buckhorn Bothers series.

JORDAN:

Jordan is the last brother in the family to get bitten by the love bug. After he has seen his other three brothers fall prey to love he wants nothing to do with it. But that's what they all have said and one by one they are grabbed by the balls by some sweet thing. And Jordan is no different.

Jordan being the quite brother with the sexy voice that can tame anything female wither they are furry or not (what? he's a vet; he's really good with animals) he finds himself falling for a dancer that he spots one night at a local saloon. She's sexy as hell and so not his type. But she is more than meets the eye and soon Jordan is loosing his heart to her.

One thing I've really enjoy about this series other than the smexy brothers is that for the most part each story is told through the men's POV which is different for me. The POV does which between them and their leading ladies but like I said we get most of the story through the guy's eyes.

Lori Foster has been added to my auto read list for the contemporary romance genre. I have put a few more of her books on hold through my library's ebook section. They have tons of books by her and they are ALL checked out at the moment which tells me that she is a popular lady and many enjoy her.

Not as good as the first two installments

This is the third and fourth books in the stories of 4 brothers, and I very much enjoyed the third book. Suddenly in the fourth book the "last" brother is revealed as having quite a bit of angst.

Spoiler alert - because they're actually half brothers, and he thinks his father wasn't as honorable as the other fathers. - END spoiler alert.

Because of his angst I was distracted. I guess I like my fictional families less flawed than people in the real world. Overall, the last installment didn't feel wrapped up like they so often do; not sure if she's leaving an opening to return later and tell Casey's story...
