Slut. Hooker. Whore.
The taunts never bothered me. They only see what I allow them to see, and a Las Vegas stripper is the perfect cover.
My life had direction. I had a mission - until the man I needed vanished and is presumed dead.
It's time to move on - give up the dream for revenge - and no one shows me that more than the mop-headed fighter with eyes the color of the ocean.
If anyone can teach me just how sweet life can be, it's him. But first, I'd have to let go.
Mase. Baywatch. Mayhem.
I'm known by many names, but there's only one that stirs panic and worry in my gut every time I'm called it.
I've bailed him out of trouble for years, so when he turns up in Vegas and asks for me, I'm prepared for the worst. And the worst is exactly what I get in the form of a lilac-eyed beauty named Trix.
She's everything I hate about Vegas: a stripper, loose with her body and her morals. But there's something about her, a complexity that she buries deep, and I'm determined to uncover it.
The deeper I go, the less I understand. When I finally learn the truth, we engage in a battle where life and death hang in the balance.
Fighting could kill us both, but if we win, forever is the prize.

I hate giving negative reviews, especially with a series that has been incredibly enjoyable, until it just hits a flat note. Sadly, I literally had trouble staying awake--albeit, I was listening in the late evening while in bed, but I didn't expect the book to be a sedative! This one was just not up to par with the others. The passionate narration that I've enjoyed previously, was annoying and overkill. Overall, the story was decent, it was funny and sexy in parts, but I didn't connect with Trix and Mason like the rest of the fighter crew. If you're a fan of the series and can get this through a sale--sure, I say have at it, otherwise, I'd just as well stop at the preceding novella, A FATHER'S FIGHT.
There is nothing better than escaping reality to listen to romance/erotica and letting your imagination flow.
The story of Mason and Trix is not what I expected when it came to MMA romance stories. Trix has spent years plotting her revenge for her sister’s death with no expectation of finding love. She has spent her time using her body to get information on her sister’s killer. All of her relationships have been based on no strings, no attachments until she meets Mason. Mason is a UFL fighter who has had plenty of disappointments of being second best when it came to women. He is the nice guy that thinks he needs to be an a**hole in order to keep a woman’s interest. His first encounter with Trix is an accidental run in that leaves him wanting more from the woman that didn’t back down to him being a jerk.
The story has plenty of twist and turns and the best part is there is no cliffhanger. The narrators do a great job with dual POVs. If you are expecting a lot of MMA fighting, then this is not the book for you. If you are looking for suspense, romance, and a story that catches you from the first chapter to the last, then this is for you.
A mother, wife, sister and good friend who enjoys the simple things in life. Country music is my preference and the beach is my escape (other then my books). LOL!
Another great story. I love this series can't wait for the next one. Narrator's were spot on.
BEST ONE YET!!! Love all the fighting books...but this one...wow. Angst, hope, love, and a happily ever after.
Amazing like all the Fighting books. Ryan West & Erin Mallon are by far my favorite Narrator's. I love how J. B. ties the previous Fighters into the current book & it was beyond great to see Gia & Rex get their revenge on Hatch. Mason was wonderful, he was so sweet & such a great guy. It was nice to see him get his happy ending. Mason & Trix were perfect together. Trix had the greatest heart & personality. It was so sweet to hear how she was with the kids at the Youth Center as well as her own siblings & it was super hot that Mason was great with the kids too. Trix's story was incredibly moving & I was so thankful how everything turned out. I couldn't believe how strong her dad was at the end. Without giving a ton away I'll just say I was tearing up big time at the end especially when *spoiler* Felix says "Moira Sister". Great book!
I have really enjoyed this series and I was looking forward to this book. To be brutally honest, this book is lacking. Trix is supposed to be the smart undercover stripper but she spends her working time drunk. How she is supposed to get info when she's impaired I don't know. Mason (Baywatch) hates strippers and everything in the criminal world but he loves Trix so he tries to save her. I'm going to assume that he is successful because I'm returning this book. It might be ok to read. One of my biggest complaints is how whiny narrator Erin Mallon is. I have three hours left but there is no way I can listen to another minute!
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
In the previous book (book 4) Mason (aka Baywatch) got his heart broken when Eve chose Cam over him so now he thinks there's no point in being a 'good guy' because what all the women seem to want is a bad guy. Now, with determination and anger fuelling him, he plans on changing things so, when a woman bumps into him which sends his phone crashing to the floor, he doesn't miss the opportunity of being a badass bastard. Even her looks and heartfelt apologies didn't sway his resolve and then the sassy woman gave back as good as she got, threw his phone smashing it and finally walked off. But it wasn't going to be the last time Mason saw her as their paths kept crossing.... in very very different situations. Which had him questioning, wondering, second guessing and even changing his newly developed personality back and forth a few times because Trix's lifestyle played some intense mind games with him.
Trix is a Stripper but there's a tragic reason why she's doing what she does and mixing with a badass Biker too - vengeance and revenge - but, as she slowly gets to know the real kind, caring, thoughtful and possessive Mason, instead of his overbearing jerk side, the more Trix's feelings grows. For four years she's been blinded by her burning revenge and starts to question whether she could, or would, give it all up for love.... but, just when she's made her choice, someone else has a deadly plan for her and steps in and throws her into her worst nightmare..... one where history is set to repeat itself.
Another great listen by JB Salsbury however this time it's not really centred around the Fighting scene but rather the world of an Exotic Dancer who goes to private parties and a Club to perform. And Mason's bad news brother leads him into some dangerous situations and reacquaints him with an old flame as well as a vicious cold-hearted criminal boss who won't take no for an answer, is a menacing and threatening Crime Lord and oozes danger to the max..... but Mason underestimates just how evil he could be.
Worth a credit? A very enjoyable roller coaster of a story that's got angst, drama, edge of your seat suspense, tension, romance, tenderness, sex, twists and well loved characters from the previous books. I didn't agree with everything Trix did, but that's how the story played out and she did suffer because of it. Dual POV's, great narration and, as with all the books in this series, it could be a standalone listen and YES another creditworthy addition happily added to my library.
Another fantastic read ! loved it.
