When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too - but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success - his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family - Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

This audiobook is intended for mature audiences.

Look for E L James’ passionate new love story, The Mister, coming April 16, 2019.

Hmm..

If you like to listen to a lot of what seems like unnecessary details of emails and sex you'll probably love it. If the series were condensed into one book I'd probably have given it five stars. I did enjoy it but I will need force myself to read it again.

Sex, sex, and more sex

More of a story

What do you think your next listen will be?

Beautiful Ruins

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes

Was Fifty Shades of Grey worth the listening time?

NO

Any additional comments?

I listened to all three. By the time I got to the 3rd one, I found myself fast forwarding just to finish it so I could hear how it ends and get on to something more interesting.

Would you listen to Fifty Shades of Grey again? Why?

I would listen to this book again, because after watching the relationships evolve, it's fun to go back again and hear how it all started.

Painful

A very predictable, mediocre and kinky romance novel. I found in painful to read at some points. I do not understand the hype about this book.

Liked the book, want sold on the narrator

The book is well written and the story is quite interesting. Not at all how I thought it would finish for book 1.

Fifty Shades of Grey

although it took quite a while to finish the.
I, can't help but think it would have been better if a male was narrating Christian's part

Good story, poor reading

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I found her reading to be really distracting from the story. She made the main character sound like a ditzy girl (very "Clueless" esque), and her attempt at differentiating the various characters was laughable. It's a good story, but as far as an audiobook, not my favorite.
