Romance on Steroids

Any additional comments?

I don't normally listen or read romance novels or erotica, but admit that I enjoyed these books. They were an interesting diversion. I read enough reviews to know that I wasn't going to be reading a literary masterpiece, but the storyline was sufficiently engaging to hook me into listening to all three books. Hopefully Ms. James' future endeavors will have the benefit of better editing (the many "oh mys" and "hot" soon grew old).

I was disconcerted with the change in Becca Battoe's voice in the last two books. Her voice sounded too young in the first book.

thought it brighter rather than darker which is why I was able to continue listening to storytelling. Gonna buy next one just as soon as I can afford it.

Dreadful at best...

I read the books before the movie came out and they were exciting and new. I expected the audio books to be the same however they are far from. I can't even finish the rest of the book this narrator is so awful. The guy that narrates 50 Shades as told by Gray did a much better job. Perhaps you should have chosen him to narrate this as well. This was a complete waste of money that could have been well spent on something else.

Love it!

Been listening to it back to back for the past two weeks. I wish the author didn't recycle words so much though.

Darker and... Sexier... no eye rolling!

This series has received so much negative PR but if it's so bad, why do people continue to buy it and why did it stay on top of bestseller lists? BECAUSE ITS A GOOD STORY. Don't try to make it into reality - it's fiction - read it and enjoy it.

Readers get a flawed hero who despite everything, is only human, and as such is imperfect. Honestly, that's the kind of hero I like best. Then there's the heroine who is young, but wise for her age. Her quirks and idiosyncrasies make her more real. What young adult at the age has mastered emotions and words? And of course, there's the sex. Albeit kinky, it's not traditional, healthy BDSM practice - and the author didn't present it that way. It's all part of the hero's back story. Patience through the unveiling of the entire trilogy allows readers to see healing and a move away from such proclivities for the wrong reasons.

I'd read the entire trilogy before listening to it in audibook. I enjoyed it in ebook but it delivered on a higher level in audio. Don't be SO JUDGY and GIVE IT A TRY.
