I really enjoyed this one. It was better than all of them

Which character – as performed by Becca Battoe – was your favorite?

In this book, I don't think I could pick just one. Becca was very good in this. Better than the first. She really made Christian's character convincing.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes I would

Fifty Shades Lighter.

Took quite some time getting acquainted with Becca's voice. Was very forced at first but halfway through it she seemed more at ease minus the whole "Holy Fuck's". Disappointed, could have used a better male narrator for Christian. I find myself smirking and laughing as Christian starts to feel more at ease and how much his character has grown or shall I say Fifty Shades Lighter. Don't know how I feel about the third book but most likely I will probably grab a copy.

Fifty Shades Darker

I love these books. Even though the story is kind of corny. E.L. James made Ana a whiner and a clueless whimp in this book. Always whining about Elena.

But all in all it was good for the second book. I give it a 3 for the story. 4 for the performance and overall.

Better than the first and the last of the 3

If you could sum up Fifty Shades Darker in three words, what would they be?

Repetitive, erotic, interesting

What other book might you compare Fifty Shades Darker to and why?

the other two in the series......they are very similarly written, the characters evolve very little except for Christian Grey, in my personal opinion, but we need to remember that this is a fictional story based on events that may happen to people. Not everyone practices this type of lifestyle, there's much we don't know about it, and still don't, we are not all models with tons of money. I liked the steamy parts, but they did get repetitive with the language. It was a good book to get lost into for a while for fun.

Which character – as performed by Becca Battoe – was your favorite?

Probably the main character Ana Steele

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Can we really mask our inner, most darkest desires and fears?

Any additional comments?

I liked the fifty shades series....but from being an avid reader of many genres and authors this author needs to widen her vocabulary and take even more risks while writing. This trilogy was supposed to shock. It did I think with the first book but then although I liked the storylines of the other 2 books it was just more of the same scenes with a little action here and there

Contemporary Erotic Love Story

Where does Fifty Shades Darker rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

Not the best - but it's up there! There was some overuse of phrases, and the narrator could have used a bit more diversity in her interpretation of the voices. I did, however, find her presentation of Anastasia to be reasonably accurate for a young 20-something female, who clearly came into this story/world very niave - but strong. Not exactly a role model, but not the weak minded fawn she could have been portrayed as. There is a love story here - and a story of 2 people growing up - together. Average girls falls at feet and into arms of Adonis-like billionaire - not a completely realistic scenario - but i was entrances and caught up in the energy as the story progressed.

What did you like best about this story?

It is, at it's core, a love story. There's intrigue, and the every murcurial Christian Gray to contend with - but i'm captivated by trying to keep up with the evolution of their relationship.

Which scene was your favorite?

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the interplay between Ana's Inner Goddess and her Sub-Conscious, and watching them develop into characters unto themselves. It reminded me of my own struggles in my youth!

Any additional comments?

Captivating as the love story and evolution of the relationship were for me, i found the frequency and seemingly needless sex a bit off-putting and excessive to what would have been needed to advance the plot. I'm a bit of a sucker for gothically tragic, self depricating men - so Christian worked well for me. The airheaded Anastasia was, well, pretty much what I would have expected. I personally wasn't put off by the Kink-Lite, nor the Alpha/Domineering Male versus semi-submissive female interplay - it's typical to a lot of what I read. But if you find that distressing, or take a personal affront to that kind of interplay in your characters, this is not the read for you.
