Inspirational romance story

I'm not sure which category this book was listed under but it's more of an inspirational story than a mystery. It's also a slow romance book. There were religious undertones, conversations and thoughts. That having been said it wasn't too overwhelming and if you like slow, clean, getting to know you romances with a little bit of excitement and action (no sex and the violence was low-key since it is an inspirational book) you would like this book. It jumps back and forth between different characters thoughts of what was happening at the moment or what had happened in the past that brought everyone to the crossroads they were at. The characters are well-developed and fleshed out.

Looking over the reviews I saw a lot of complaints of the narrator but I didn't think he was that bad. I actually liked his voice.

Occasional Reader

I loved the whole law enforcement storyline and the fact it took place in Missouri.

Great story, poor narration

Would you listen to Fatal Judgment again? Why?

Yes but would prefer a narrator who puts emotion in the read and makes an effort to differ the voices of the different characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fatal Judgment?

The judge's effort to free herself.

Would you be willing to try another one of Brian Hutchinson’s performances?

Not sure. I see he has done the narration of the other books in the series so I may just to here the rest of the series.

Any additional comments?

The narrator makes or breaks an audio book. Would encourage the author to audition the narrator. Might want to consider a female narrator. They seem to be able to vary voices and do a better job with male voices than a man does female voices.

More Romance than Mystery

This was the first book that I bought from Irene Hannon and I was sort of disappointed. It didn't have any real mystery to it. I found it to be more of a clean Christian romance novel than a mystery. If you like a book that has lots of romance and the murderer is told to the reader up front, then you may like this kind of book. Overall, the book was just OK.

Using Brian Hutchinson’s narration was a FATAL JUDGEMENT!!

A decent story that got butchered by the painfully slow and corny performance. That paired with an ending that was so cheesy it was enough to nearly cause my eyes to roll off my face. Save yourself the credit, the time and the audible agony..... and go pick a different title. Trust me.... this wasn’t even worth a single star rating.

Ok Story, Horrible Narrator

It is a good thing this is not my first encounter with Irene Hannon's books. If it were, it would of probably been my last. This is not one of Irene's best books. The story was so-so and the narration was the worst I have heard in a while. I started with book three in this series, which was much better, and decided to try the first in this series. This story was so dry, I am not sure if I want to give book two a try.

Great book, needs better narration...

I love Irene Hannon, and loved reading the book when it was published last year. However, I was disappointed in the narration of this audiobook. There was little to no vocal difference amongst the various characters, making it difficult at times to follow along. I also found little difference in tonal inflection between scenes-- happy, sad, fearful, delighted, etc., they all sounded the same.

Inspiration not Romanitc Suspense

The opening says 'this is an inspirational story.' I knew then I had made an error in my purchase. The sample I listened to sounded like it COULD be good and a fast listen, I was wrong. This is a slow listen and story. More soothing than heart beating fast type. I think it was categorized wrong. Two and a half hours into the story and those two and half hourse could have been completed in 30 minutes. While I'm trying to be positive about the book I would hate others, like me, to purchase this audiobook that were expecting more bang for their buck.

LOVE WILL CONQUER

This book started out slow. The pace could have been much faster. I also thought the fact that the sister lost her life could have been handled better. She almost became a non-entity. I could not believe the way the killer just walks in and takes what he wants without anyone really looking. If I am ever in that situation I pray that I have better protection than the judge had. Thank God for the teenagers. That is why I gave the book 3 stars.

The thing I like about Irene Hannon's books are reading them always brings peace. As a christian it is hard to find books that are not always about sex and getting it on. Trust me I do read books with love and sex. However, clean christian books are great when you are needing easy reads. I understand that some readers had a problem with the "God thing." That is what I was looking for in the authors books.

Looking forward to next books in this series.
