Publisher's summary

Sparks fly when a hardboiled reporter meets a handsome senator. But a political scandal - and attempts on her life - could drive them apart. Or maybe adversity could draw them into a bond even more intense than their steamy sexual embraces.

Great audio of the first book in a fabulous series

If you haven't treated yourself to the best romantic suspense series that I've ever read, you are missing something really special. The I-Team is a group of investigative journalists for an independent Denver, Colorado newspaper. Extreme Exposure is the first book in the series. (Right now there are five books with a sixth due out May 2013). The book is a superb blend on action, suspense, romance and some really red-hot passion. I will NOT post spoilers about the story, but Kara is a talented single mom who works as a journalist, and Reece is a state senator. Their meeting is quite memorable...that is all I'm gonna say about that!

I am an audio book fan and feel it is important to match the book to the narrator. Kaleo Griffith is a relative new-comer in this field and has a great future ahead of him. He is an excellent actor, has a wonderful 'bedroom' voice, his female characters each have distinctive voices, accents and cadence of speech without the reader using a falsetto voice. It is easy to tell one character from another and it was not necessary to replay to figure out who is speaking.

The writing is great and the narration is some of the best I've heard. The audio version of book two in the series - Hard Evidence is due out on November 19th. I am a die-hard fan and cannot wait!

Erin Brockovich meets A Political Affair

I'm not really sure why I loved this book but I really did. Perhaps it was the AWESOME narration by Kaleo Griffith - wow he has one sexy voice. Whatever the reason I simply enjoyed this story from start to finish.
It's not a literary classic and it's not even that much of a mystery. I'm sure you will figure it all out by the end of Chapter 2. Overall I was very entertained by this one and that's always a plus in my opinion.

Mr.Kaleo Griffith is Sexy

wow, what at great new team! Ms Clare knows how to write a great, fast and sexy story.
This is a great listen. Mr Griffith has got the voice and knows how to pace his reading. Sexy and yummy. Move over Victor Selzack, and James Daniels. Ms Sandra Brown and Ms Julie Garwood, take a listen to this reader. He can make your books sizzle.

FABULOUS story & AWESOME Narration!

What did you love best about Extreme Exposure?

The whole story ~ was in turns funny and others totally moving. Very REAL writing, Kara & Reece are a great couple and I enjoyed so much the building of their relationship.

What did you like best about this story?

That it wasn't instant love for Reece and Kara ~ they built up towards it, and how they had to learn to trust & respect one another for WHO they were.

Which character – as performed by Kaleo Griffith – was your favorite?

Hmm...honestly, he did an amazing job as BOTH Reece AND Kara. At times Kara's voice would be a little high pitched, lol, but it was perfection for the tone, inflection, etc...I had never listened to him before, and was SO thrilled with this performance. I'd read the book when it first came out, but have to say he DID add to the story, which was already amazing!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

A Scorching Romantic Suspense

Any additional comments?

If you're a fan of Romantic Suspense ~ especially smoking HAWT books ~ don't miss this one. It was really great, and not to be missed!

Why all the 5 stars?

I don't get why all the 5 stars? Yes Kaleo Griffith is an awesome narrator.. but I don't see what the rave is about. I am pretty bored. Maybe b/c I am more of an erotic or paranormal romance listener/reader...but I didn't even finish... I kinda skipped to end just to see what happen.

Maybe a credit, if waiting for something else to come out... but I honestly can't recommending because I literally skipped to end.

WOW!! Loved it!!!!

I loved the vulnerability of the characters in this story. Reece had been a political science high school teacher, who accepted a challenge from his students to run for office and make a difference, and won. Meet the new, young state senator, who all of a sudden has become a very eligible bachelor, whereas before he was basically ignored by the opposite sex. Meet Keira, a single mom, who was an investigative reporter, who hadn't had sex in so long, that Mr. Jiggle was her best friend. One too many margarita's imbided by Kiera, and her potty mouth grabs the attention of Reece and to him, her blatant questions and talk was very intriguing. Kiera gets a tip from a whistle blower and begins an investigation into a firm that has heavy political ties in the state, starting with the Governor. Soon the accidents begin, suspicions arise, and the heat between Reece and Kiera becomes unbearable, making Kiera so afraid, she starts to back away from Reece. The action, intrigue and murderous intent keeps one riveted.

Now for the narrator, Kaleo Griffith is one sexy-voiced man. He did a phenomenal job, and I can't wait to listen to the next installment.

Excellent Narrator, Mediocre Characters

Best part - amazing narration

Worst part - mediocre lead characters Kara and Reece. For a smart newspaper reporter, Kara made some really dumb choices like not getting child support for her 4 year old son, not taking death threats seriously, and not using condoms before getting health tests.

I thought Reece was too rough, arrogant and bossy, not respectful or considerate. He practically raped Kara in a snow bank (cold & windy is so not sexy), and kept saying what he wanted and needed without ever asking Kara what she wanted.

Kara, starved for emotional and physical affection, allowed Reece to barge into her life, taking control and issuing orders. I don't understand the appeal of "alpha males", who often become violent, aggressive and abusive toward women.

Pamela Clare is a talented writer; if she wrote about stronger females and less selfish male characters, her books would be amazing.

Hot romance with lots of suspense

STORY - There's never a dull moment with this book. Reese (Colorado Senator) and Cara (reporter) meet in a bar, and Cara makes an unforgettable first impression (OMG!!) They begin a relationship, during which time they become entwined in a tense situation involving some serious pollution issues. The story line is intense and moves quickly, the romance is hot and the sex scenes are pretty explicit. You will love Reese, another dreamy male lead that this author/narrator combo creates in this series.

The story can completely stand on its own.

NARRATOR - I love him! It's great to hear a male narrate a romance. Since I'm a female, I don't like to hear women trying to do a sexy male lead -- it just doesn't work. This narrator sounds pretty good as a female, too.

OVERALL - Great romance, so go for it.

I-Team Series is great

The author's personal knowledge of investigative reporting, truly comes out in this book. The details of what goes on for a reporter to get a story, is fascinating. This story is romantic suspense...so there is a great romance to go along with all the fast paced action of the heroine reporters investigative story. All make for a very enticing read, and a book that never gets dull. The narrator is great. I'm usually not a fan of men narrating romance books of any kind...but Kaleo Griffith is great. I've read all of Pamela Clare's I-Team books, and it was great fun re-visting this series via audio. Although it's the same book I read several years ago...the audio makes it seem fresh again! I will be getting the entire series on audio, as each title is released.

Interesting

If you could sum up Extreme Exposure in three words, what would they be?

Intrigue, danger and romance.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the storyline. Politics, cover-ups, danger and a love story thrown in to make it better.

Have you listened to any of Kaleo Griffith’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

My first listen of Kaleo Griffith and I think he did a very good job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I kept getting interrupted during this book so due to the distractons I couldn't focus on it as much as I wanted. I can't honestly say if it would of been one that I would of had to listen to all at one time.

Any additional comments?

I like this book but I think I would rather buy it on sale than use my credit. Not to say it isn't good, but I like to use my credits on the books I rate with 5 stars.
