**SUSPENSE AND ROMANCE**. Glad I listened!

I was worried that this book may fall flat but it far exceeded my expectations. This book grabs your attention and keeps you wondering what will happen next. I liked it well enough that now I’m going to listen to another one of her books!

I could barely pull myself away from it. It kept me on the edge of my seat through out the whole story.

I loved the book, but then it became too corny

I was loving it until the very end. It would have been a 5 but for one phrase. I’m not sure if it was the performer or the actual story, but it just made seem corny.

Although I liked this book, I would not listen to this book again because I did not like how the the child's voice was narrated.

My favorite character was Preston. He had a lot of presence and the author did a great job with his character development.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, it wasn't and that was okay.

I really liked this book and it had me involved to the point I was telling her not to be so stupid!! I talked to the main character quite a few times during this book. Lol

Kept me on the edge of my seat.

Great listen, made my cleaning go faster. kept me right in the edge of my seat. The driving cross country time line is a little off but overall good read.

It was a predictable story, but entertaining.

This book is good - definitely a summer read. There was entirely too much focus on Max's illness and the narrator's whiney voice for him almost made me stop listening a time or two. Mothers of small children read to escape (if they can find time) the last thing they want to hear is a whiney child. He whined about the same things over and over the entire story. Rather than put her foot down and be a parent, Emma negotiates with him constantly. That got incredibly old. The book felt more like the plight of a mother dealing with a diabetic child than the fact that she is an abused wife running from a maniac. *Spoilerish* I noticed that the issue of how the father finds them is never addressed at all. There was a missed opportunity there. Finally - and this is super nit picky, but it happens a lot in audiobooks - the narrator should know how to pronounce city names. Her calling Ely, NV "E Lie" was like nails on a chalkboard. I lived in NV and had friends from Ely "E LEE" so to hear that over and over was frustrating.
