TERRIFIC SERIES!!

I loved the first two books of this series and this one was as wonderful in every way. J. R. Ward writes this genre beautifully---filled with excitement, great characters and a perfect blend of normal and paranormal.

And this author captures the masculine attitude and manner so well. Besides Eric Dove who absolutely brings the characters to life. Yes, Eric Dove has to join Phil Gigante as another of my boyfriends. Sigh. Those two can read the phonebook and I would be putty in their hands.

Anyway, I also absolutely ADORED the gay angels!! How refreshing and how wonderfully unique---I loved Nigel/Colin! And that fabulous demon, Devina, and all the fabulous clothes she wears! With stillettos...!

Oh, and the premise of this series is so engaging---the saving of the souls. Now I will have to wait for the next installment of Jim Heron and the cast of angels.

Great Series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

J.R. Ward's Fallen Angels series is very good. I expected it to be funnier after reading The Blackdagger Brotherhood, where the angel is hilarious.

A Powerful addition to the series

After losing the previous soul to Devina, Jim Heron and his three companions, return to Caldwell to face the battle for the third soul on the line. But Detective Thomas DelVecchio Jr. brings with him a set of problems that they hadn't faced before. His soul isn't possessed the way their first soul was, so an exorcism won't work, he has a split soul due to the sins of his father...

But there's hope, in the form of an IA agent, Sophia Riley, if either of them has the courage to take a chance.

As for Jim, he has a personal stake in this one; Veck and Riley are investigating the disappearance of Sissy, the young woman Devina sacrificed in Covet. A woman Jim is drawn to more than he can explain, despite the fact that Sissy is dead.

A fantastic addition to the Fallen Angel series, with strong tie ins to the BDB series.

As for the narrator, he's truly grown on me, and works wonderfully for this series.

Good vs Evil

Would you listen to Envy: A Novel of the Fallen Angels again? Why?

I like J.R. Ward's writing very much so I own and have reread and relistened to all her books. And will continue to do so between other books and authors. Plus Jim makes a good "saviour" and he's a hottie. LOL

Everytime Jim learns something new about himself.

What about Eric G Dove’s performance did you like?

I liked the way he gave every character a distinctive feel, he has a good voice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Jim talking about his mother.

Any additional comments?

If you have not listened to a book before you are missing a great experience.

Another Marvelous Entry to Series

He was the son of one of the most notorious serial killers, and whether that had decided his career choice, homicide detective Thomas “Veck” DelVecchio, Jr. had grown up in the shadow of evil. Today, he balances between good and evil as he tracks another vicious serial killer, and battles his subconscious to arrest, saving the state the bother of a long trial, or just kill the slime himself. After tracking him down, Veck seemed to blackout then found his quarry mangled beneath his feet. Veck was totally confused but did the right thing and called 911 – not sure whether he had ripped the man apart or not.

Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, who is fighting her professionalism with the fact that she finds Veck blindingly sensual. While both fight a damaging professional attraction, another complication enters into the mix; Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with another agenda that has Veck teetering on the edge of eternal damnation unless Heron can help him make the right decision.

Once again, Ms. Ward has penned another delicious entry into her Fallen Angels series as angel Jim Heron fights for souls in a contest of good vs. evil. So much is at stake and the action and story is fast and palatable keeping the reader/listener on the edge of their seat. The good people, angels and humans are wonderful, and the evil forces are chilling and very sinister. Ward is a master at this game and the plotting, writing, characterizations, and the twists and turns were as always amazingly good.

Having a vast library of Audible tomes, I must also congratulate the narrator Eric Dove on a fabulous job of mastering all the voices involved and the pacing of the telling of this story. This was again a most fantastic listening experience to the fabulous writing of Ms. J.R. Ward. Outstanding!
