Publisher's summary

As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas “Veck” DelVecchio, Jr., grew up in the shadow of evil. Now, on the knife-edge between civic duty and blind retribution, he atones for the sins of his father - while fighting his inner demons. Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in him is both professional and arousingly personal. And Veck and Sophia have another link: Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with too many answers... to questions that are deadly. When Veck and Sophia are drawn into the ultimate battle between good and evil, their fallen angel savior is the only thing that stands between them and eternal damnation.

FANTASTIC--WOW

Would you listen to Envy again? Why?

I would listen to all of this series again and again. It is just so well written and just fantastic that words just cannot explain.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think I would be like Devina and be totally in love with Jim Herron and really want him
all the time like she does. Hmmmm, he sounds so hot!

Have you listened to any of Eric G Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard any other books by him, but I would. And DEFINITELY keep him
reading the rest of this series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, there are a few places where you would giggle or laugh, and then there is one place where tears ran down my cheeks. I wont give it away, but it was very sad. I love being
that in tune with a book and series of books. It just really makes "reading" so
worth while.

Any additional comments?

I love that we are in Caldwell, and when around chapter 19 a black escalade nearly runs them over on the freeway I thought to myself --Hey, there are the Brotherhood after some lessors. The vampire in this book, yeah, I think it was one of the Brothers especially in the end where a big leather covered wearing sh-t kicker boots person comes walking down the hall of the hospital and says that he will make things right.
I love that both series run side by side, and the author probably hoped that everyone catches this part, but I bet she figures they won't if they arent in tune with the Brotherhood series. Man! I love them too.
Hard to believe I gotta wait until next year for the next installment on both of these super series. I have thought about 2-3 months before it will be due this time next year, to listen
to all the books again. But Im so tuned in that I don't need a refresher, I pick right up where the series left off, and I generally dont stop until it's done. LOL
If you don't like these, there is something really wrong with you. LOL even with the sexual context of the angels being one that I .....well, you understand Im sure.

Loved this book !

I have been reading the series, and couldn't wait for my friend to finnish the hardcopy so I took a chance and downloaded this to my Kindle. Loved it ! loved how J.R., made the devil everyman's fantasy on how a woman she look; but it was a mask to the evil that was inside. Delvechio was troubled person beacause of his father and what he had witnesed but he knew enough to stay away! Another home run for J.R, Ward

Envious

If you could sum up Envy in three words, what would they be?

By far the best of the series to date. The story of Jim Herron and his mission to bring down the demon Devina continues. Jim must help Vic, a detective in Caldwell. This story syncs up with the substory of

What does Eric G Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His tone is fantastic - an intensity and passion where appropriate

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes. I was drawn in to the backstory of each character and can't wait to read the next book.

Realistic characters

What I love JR Ward is that they know how to write characters that you can believe are real. They live in Coldwell and you feel for the characters, you feel for the battle between good and evil. This series, sparks so much realism that it allows one to become a part of the story.

reading for second time

in prep for the release of The Sinner, I just finished listening to Envy again. The storyline is intricate enough that this book stands up to listening to more than once. The details still surprise you. Since I don't like reading spoilers, I'll stop here. There are several spoiler-worth things that happen. I hope you enjoy finding them out for yourself.

J.R. Ward and Eric G Dove!

J.R. Ward is one of my absolute favorites and I've recently become an avid fan of narrator, Eric G Dove so I eagerly started this series. Other than too many "battles" for my taste, it was great!

Really enjoyed this one....

Things are really heating up in the race by Jim, Adrian, Eddie, and I suspect Dog, to stop the deviously evil Divina. Some truly bad events unfold in this instalment of the Fallen Angels. Just hang on because it's quite the ride..twists and more twists. Eric Dove's narration is very well done. Definitely worth a credit.
