As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas “Veck” DelVecchio, Jr., grew up in the shadow of evil. Now, on the knife-edge between civic duty and blind retribution, he atones for the sins of his father - while fighting his inner demons. Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in him is both professional and arousingly personal. And Veck and Sophia have another link: Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with too many answers... to questions that are deadly. When Veck and Sophia are drawn into the ultimate battle between good and evil, their fallen angel savior is the only thing that stands between them and eternal damnation.

This is one of my favorites in this series so far, you have got to pay attention. I liked our characters from the beginning and love that Delvecchio was introduced to us J R Ward fans awhile ago through the BDB series. Jim and "The Boys" our Fallen Angels are just a handful on their own. I said "ah haw" a lot while listening to this book. Nothing is held back in this battle of good and evil. Never boring.
good and evil
Amazing world to live in. I love that not everyone is either good or evil. JR Ward blurs the lines and makes it ok to do so. This series is amazing and keeps me on the edge of my seat.
i laughed out loud a few times...
This series is amazing!!!
Never trust anyone who doesn't enjoy reading.
Yes I would listen to it again! This series is so wonderful because it has everything. Love, action, angels, hot guys.... who could ask for more?!
Jim is my favorite character throughout this whole series.
I can't wait until Ward continues this series!
I've always been a avid reader so now I'm a avid listener. I prefer the paranormal genre but I do like to switch things up. It's boring if you don't have variety. Of course I do love the romance and the hotter the better. Also, you can't beat a good thriller filled with suspense and a ending you can't even guess at until the very end.
I love JR Ward and this series did not let me down. I love the storyline and if your a fan I think you'll like these too.
after listening to a Nora Roberts book, i now get all kinds of romance recommendations from Audible. i didn't realize "Envy" is just that. i can't stand anything about it. same old formula - brooding law-enforcement/bad-boy - with a paranormal twist.
i don't like the narrator at all.
disappointment. i thought it would be a good story, not romance formula.
When I clean, drive or exercise I listen to romance. The steamier the better but it must have a great story as well!
I love this series and JR Ward doesn't disappoint with this newest addition. It leaves you with the sense that although you may not be perfect, you may not be evil. It left me with a feeling of hope and happiness with the world.
A reviewer at Guilty Indulgence Review Site. I don't go anywhere without a book -ebook or audiobook- and I always have an opinion to share.
Despite being more urban fantasy than paranormal romance, I enjoyed this book. Seven deadly sins. Seven souls to save. And I'm completely intrigued. This book is the first battle between a savior and a demon. It's far different from previous Ward books but still equally intense. I'm looking forward to continuing this series.
The Ward is the best- in my opinion no one comes close in this genre. Not as amazing as her Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but still damn good. You can trust anything by this author.
