charming

Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
Would I listen to it again: probably (but because of the narration - not the story)
What did I like? Easy take on the "Cinderella" tale, story has a good pace, characters are engaging and it's well written.

Narrator comment: Verity Burns has done a reasonable job on the narration. I did find the narration flat between the characters spoken dialog and would have liked it to have stronger emotions and intonations to make it a great narration, but overall it was an easy listen.

Sweet story but I do not recommend this narrator

A sweet Cinderella story. I would have enjoyed it more however with different narrator. I struggled to finish because the narrators voice was irritating.

Cinder-Elianna

This story certainly has a Cinderella vibe to it. Our poor beleaguered heroine, the daughter of an earl, is treated so poorly by the new earl and his wife—especially his wife, whose happy place is tormenting the heroine. Elianna was her father's only child, so the earldom passed to a distant relation. The heroine’s hopes for any happy future are soon dashed. The book opens with a prologue showing her first meeting with the new earl, but the bulk of the book takes place 5 years later when she's been relegated to being a servant. The family isn't even honest with others about who she is or was, calling her at turns a governess or companion … and even threatening demotion to lower levels of servitude, never stating she was the former earl's daughter. So the hero is her would-be white knight, but her horrid family has cowed her for so long that she cannot trust herself to share what her life is truly like and who she is. I kept wishing she would just have had a heart-to-heart with him, telling her about herself and her circumstances. As this is a romance, things do end up well … at least for the heroine. Let's just say the bad guys get their karmic just desserts! While the story lacked some development, both characterization and plot, I found it a thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Fantastic!

This is a Cinderella story! Lady Elianna was forced to be a servant in her own home after her father died and a cousin took it over. Enter Lord Sinclair. Don't miss this one.

A Cinderella Story

Enticed by Lady Elianna is a sweet and charming Cinderella story. Despite the short length of the book, the storyline is well-paced, with a great plot and character development. The narration by Verity Burns was good, I was satisfied with her performance. I was given a free copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

It's a struggle

The story is nice, but the narrator ruined it for me. I felt like a fifth grader was reading. I'll probably not listen to any books with this narrator again.

A Cinderella story

Sweet Cinderella story like most of them with bad relativs who don't want anything good for the heroine. of course the heroine is the most beautiful women in the story and her prince falls for her. like in all Cinderella stories the mean relatives make it hard for them to get together.
the story has nothing new to offer really, just a sweet love story with happy ending.
The narrator is good. the author should step a little bit out of the box and try something new. This box is over used. It works ok fore a while then you get bored in the box.
