Sebastian Stone, Sunder front man and guitarist with a rap sheet about 10 miles long, escaped to Savannah, Georgia, to get away from the trouble he'd caused, not find more of it. The moment he met Shea Bentley, he saw beneath all her sweetness and innocence something that went deeper. Darker. Their relationship was built on secrets, their love built on lies. Sebastian never imagined how deep her secrets went.
When the past and present collide, Sebastian and Shea find themselves fighting for a future neither believed they deserved. Their passion is consuming and their need unending. Now, holding the truth in his hands, Sebastian is faced with sacrificing everything he's come to love to protect Shea and his family.

Even with all of the mixed reviews and me not liking the 1st book, I still wanted to give this book a chance. This certainly wasn't the worst book but it wasn't one of my favorites. I struggled during some of the parts to refrain from fast forwarding because some parts would drone on and on uneccesarily. Other parts were really good and interesting. It was just a constant 'peak and valley' of a book that struggled to maintain my attention as I struggled to get through it so that I could move on to the next book in my list.
Even Sebastian Yorks' narration couldn't save this book and that's saying alot, he makes even some of the worst books better just by the sound of his voice.
Overall this isn't a terrible book by any means and if you liked the 1st book or just want to give this book a chance, absolutely take the plunge. However if you are on the fence like I was, don't waste your money or a credit on this one.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Before I started this second part of Sebastian and Shea's love story, I went back and listened to book 1 A Stone In The Sea again.... and I'm so so glad I did because it's been months (and lots of books) since I listened to it and I'd forgotten so much of the intricacies to the backstory in this riveting and totally addictive Duet. There is a lot of drama and angst in this second part to their sizzling romance - as well as passion, pain, heartache, tension, sex, secrets and revelations.
The handsome and sexy Rock sensation that is Sebastian (Baz) has so many toxic hang-ups, conflicts and demons rattling around in his head which build up and drives him to take action..... in the name of love and revenge. Shea, who has past and present demons of her own, has to step in to uncover the truths hidden in her past..... to save her soul-mate, to save herself and to secure a HEA future for all.
There are twists and surprises as well as a tender, obsessive and all consuming romance between two very likeable characters and the storyline has other interesting characters weaving throughout this well written love story. Dual POV's and the narrators brought the whole thing to life so each scene could be easily imagined and each character could be easily visualized as the chapters deliciously unravelled.
Worth a credit? Yes, very enjoyable, very entertaining and very creditworthy...... and you lucky listeners won't have to wait months, as so many of us did, after the torturous cliffhanger at the end of book 1. Book 3 in this series will be a standalone, will be about Lyrik (another member of Sunder) and will be added to my iPhone just as soon as it's released on Audible..... hopefully quickly followed by all the rest.
I love these characters the readers bring Baz and Shay to life. This a beautifully poetic story. I read lots of books in this genera but this quiet simple story touched my heart.
Let's also give major kudos to Sebastian York his voice makes Baz that much sexier.
Thank you A.L. Jackson for this gift in storytelling it was light, dark, heavy, soft and sang with delicate thoughtful poetry. I loved it.
Tell us about yourself!
The narrators were incredible, which is why I bought both this and the previous book in the series. An editor would have been beneficial to remove the constant repetition contained in the internal dialogue.
Yes, both are incredible.
It's hard to consider which character if any should be cut. It was a disastrous mess, altogether.
This book and book one captures you and reels you in such that you have to know how it ends. I like the sweet, heartfelt connect between Sebastian and Shay. The plot was well written.
I only had two issues with the story - in both books the author is too repetitive, especially when the characters are describing their feelings. I found myself skipping large portions of chapters to avoid the receptive parts. The other issue was that Shay starts out, in the first book, as being strong. By the second book she had cried so many times I wanted to shake her and say "pull it together!". I have read and listened to many books and have found that authors tend to make the women weak and sometimes totally unstable. Women can be emotionally strong and kind at the sane time! I wish this author had cut some of the crying!
As usual the narrators were great! Both were well suited for their characters!
I will definitely listen to this author again!
This was a true romance. Probably a little far fetched on the bottom story line but it's a book, right? I love books that make me feel good and happy and this totally did it! A.L. Jackson did a GREAT job of creating wonderful characters in this series of books, along with great sex portions (yeah) and a feel good story. I cant wait to listen to the next in the series and Im sure when Im all finished that I'll listen to them again! LOVED the narrators. Narrators can either make or break a book and they definitely MADE it!
The 2nd story and continuation of the Bleeding Hearts series, this follows the story of Sebastian Stone and Shay as they fight to keep their now new family in tact. I loved Andi Arndt and Sebastian York's portrayal of Sebastian and Shay with the first book, A Stone and the Sea, and it is so becoming to keep these narrators for the second installment.Andi and Sebastian deliver an energetic performance that elevates the intensity of the story and leaves the listener/reader hanging on throughout the story.
I love the male female duo of narrators. Sebastian Yorks voice is so sexy. And Andi Arndt sounds so melodic.
All the characters were outstanding I their own way. But I probably like Sebastion the best. He was talented and sexy, fiercely protective and yet vulnerable.
The part at the end with her grandmother's ring and the inscription over the door.
Wow another great instalment of this series, loved the storyline and the characters. Looking forward to the next book. Would highly recommend this author
This book and its predecessor are brilliant. Love both voices. Sad when it was over. Great story.
