Publisher's summary

Miranda Puckett has failed at every job she’s ever had. Her mother just wants her to come home, join the family law firm, and settle down with Jason, the perfect lawyer boyfriend. But when Jason turns out to be a lying cheater, Miranda seizes on a job that gets her out of town: long-distance vampire transportation.

Her first assignment is to drive vampire Collin Sutherland from Washington to sleepy Half Moon Hollow without incident—no small feat for a woman whom trouble seems to follow like a faithful hound dog! And she has to do it without letting her passenger—the most persnickety, stuffy, devastatingly handsome vamp she’s ever met—drive her crazy. As she and Collin find disaster on the roads, they also find an undeniable spark between them. Could Miranda have found the perfect job and the perfect guy for her?

Fun, light-hearted and quirky.

Would you consider the audio edition of Driving Mr. Dead to be better than the print version?

I prefer most all books in audio. When you have a good narrator it brings so much more to the characters and the stories.

What other book might you compare Driving Mr. Dead to and why?

It reminds me of the tv show True Blood (I haven't read the Sookie Stackhouse series) in that vampires have "come out of the coffin" and are a part of society.

Have you listened to any of Amanda Ronconi’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this was my first. I read of couple of bad reviews on her, but personally I thought she did a fantastic job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was smiling for pretty much the entire book.

Any additional comments?

This is my 2nd Molly Harper book and I am in love. This was such a fun paranormal romance. In the beginning I didn’t see how Collin could become any kind of lovable or even really likeable. At first he seemed like someone I would enjoy annoying and p***ing off, if I were Miranda. But ½ way thru the book I was falling in love with him. He’d kept himself so secluded for years that he forgot how to laugh and smile. But here comes Miranda’s quirky, funny and lovable self to break him down. I can’t get enough of the clever and witty banter between characters in the 2 Molly Harper books that I’ve read and I’ll definitely be reading more of her books. Vampires, lust, sex and laughs… What more could a girl want?!

Good read, wrong order

It’s a minor thing but in the next book (#6) Iris theorizes about starting a transport company which somehow is up and running in this book (#5). I would have rather read them in the reverse order as I’d been so used to Jane being the focus, the gear shift to two new characters and a road trip was, well, trippy. Otherwise, fun characters and story.

Lots of fun! Great narrator!

This books was a lot of fun and felt a lot more like a full novel than most novellas do. The characters were well developed and the plot didn't feel forced. Miranda is so funny, like all of Molly Harper's heroines tend to be. Narrator Amanda Ronconi did a fabulous job, just as she has done with other Molly Harper books. All in all, a fun, light read (or listen).
