Half human and half Wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the Wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful---and passionate---of the Elder Races.
As the most feared and respected of the Wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they've ignited in one another.

"This is an outstanding blend of romantic suspense and urban fantasy with great storytelling and world building, extremely sensuous scenes that move the story arc along, and characters [listeners] will be reluctant to leave." (Booklist)
If you're looking for a story that is other-worldly, very sexy, mysterious, and serves up a hearty laugh every chapter, you've found it! This book has been a recommendation for me from Audible for awhile, and after finally purchasing it, I didn't listen for a few months more. Don't make this same mistake, get this book TODAY and indulge yourself. If this first book is any indication of the series, I'm purchasing the rest and letting the binge-listening commence!
The narration was very good; there wasn't a point in the story where things lagged, and I laughed out loud throughout. Dragos is one stunner of a Wyr-man-dragon-sexy beast! His fiery dragon sensibilities were hilarious and sexy all at the same time. Pair him with sarcastic spit-fire Pia, and you've got a seriously funny and romantic fantasy story that is well worth a credit and a 5-star rating across the board.
I have read a lot of paranormal, and I was surprised by how awesome - and how funny - this was. There is tons of action and I grew to really love Pia over the course of the book. She is stubborn, but not stubbornly stupid like some you just want to slap across the face. There is one scene in particular (let's just say it involved too much alcohol and girl bonding with a fae princess) that had me in tears it was so funny. Sophie Eastlake is a great narrator for this series.
This is a great series so far the characters are funny and interesting, it ranks up there with the Immortal after Dark series. I really liked Sophie Eastlake as a narrator, she does a wonderful job. There are some cases in which the narrator can ruin a book but not this one. I love paranormal romance books and its worth a credit. It started out a little slow, but I am glad I got it. Just downloaded the 3rd book hope its as good as the first 2.
Nurse, mom, loved to read....but now I love to listen. When I retire I hope to hear waves crashing in 1 ear and audible in the other!
Audio has put reading a book to shame.....Narration brings the characters and story to life. I can picture the story in my head while listening.....it's awesome! I love Audible!
It's a tie between Pia and Dragoes. Pia for her strength and determination and Dragoes for his will to learn to know love!
I think Dragoes but she did an awesome job with all the characters....I could see lavender haired Trix as Ms. Eastlake narrated.
No love like a dragons....
I am looking forward to listening to the rest of the series.
This is a well done adventure story. Dragos & Pia, as the romantic leads, are interesting, intelligent & courageous. Their characters & relationships develop as they are carried from one adventure to the next. The interest continues as things settle down for a bit while Pia finds her place in Dragos' world. The sex is steamy although there isn't a whole lot of down-time for that.
The supporting characters are fun too. So much so that I have listened to & enjoyed the entire series! However, this one is my favorite, and one I turn to when I can't sleep at night - just because it makes me feel good.
I spend 90+ minutes a day in my car, Audible makes it enjoyable regardless of what's happening in traffic. My taste varies from endurance fitness to economics and from to combat stories and romance novels.
While I knew this was going to be a romance novel, what I didn't know is how damn much I'd enjoy it. Take 50 Shades of Grey, substitute Sebastian Grey with a 1,500 year old dragon and add in a wicked sense of humor by a really talented author and you have the formula for Dragon Bound. It's light, playful, and doesn't take itself too seriously where the Psy-Changeling series sometimes does. While it has some of the same predictability that all romance novels tend to, the ability of the author to be playful and laugh a little really brought this book home for me.
I think I've found a new series.
Did I just say that? Yes, I did and, at least in this book, it is true!
This was my first Thea Harrison book, but not my last. Her writing is fun, adventurous, sexy and sexy. Did I mention sexy? Combined with Sophia Eastlake's proven talent, "Dragon Bound" is a winner.
I really enjoy the world of books! Narration just add layers to that world... don't u think? :)
Very good book. I read other reviews before I got this, and I couldn't find one bad review. Not one! I see why. This was so good. The idea of Wyr, was great. I liked how Dragos was like a billion years old, and he was sooo unknowledgeable on the ways of loved. It really showed u how closed off he kept himself and how stuck in his ways he was. I liked how Pria was sooo freakin funny. I remember laughing out loud several times. She felt so real. Like a real person who didn't know what creature she was, but she knew she had to protect herself. Loved it. The romance between Dragos and Pria was great. Awesome loved story, b/c she really thought she was gonna kill her. I liked how author actually made Pria scared of Dragos and didn't make them fall in love right away, b/c one... Pria was scared, and two Dragos had no idea what love was... This book was written so well. The only think I didn't like was the Harpee... What a bi*ch! But I guess harpees are like that. I also love Dragos chain of command, awesome! If I had to sum up this book in three words it would be
Awesome Fantasy Romantic! Totally worth the credit. I must in every Audible Library... soo good.
The narrator was really good. I could tell the difference between each voice. At times I found myself rewinding just to make sure the narrator didn't change, because her male voices are super good.
Don't waste your credits on anything else...Get this book. Will not disappoint.
Love anything about shifters and lycanthropy. Paranormal romance is my thing! best escape and entertainment I can imagine! :]
Yes! Moved along nicely. GREAT characters and personality definition! Perfect sprinkling of erotic and humor!
I loved the humor sprinkled in. It was modern and fun. GREAT ride!!
I loved Dragos and how he evolved throughout the book. Pia was great too and her evolotion was expected. But the author did a great job of showing how Dragos had never loved and why that would feel so forgein to him. His changes throughout the book were inspiring to me as an author.
This was an easy listen. Great narrator. Fun story. Some Erotica and lots of humor from the distinctly different characters. I got it on sale and would recommend waiting for it to cost less than one credit but overall a really fun romp for a weekend of listening!
