Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they’ve fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it’s time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She’s having visions of a vampire named Gregor, who’s more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn’t know about.
Gregor believes Cat is his and won’t stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor’s hold over her. She’ll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she’s ever faced … even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

I love a good series. My favorite of all time is The Dresden files, second is Sandman Slim.
If I read the series over again, yes. I'm not sure if I would only because there are so many books out there that I need to read. It really is good enough to go through again, though.
The most memorable moment in the book for me was when Cat got her memories back about Gregor. It was really neat to see how young and naive she was before she started killing vampires and met Bones. Gregor was such an ass to her, but she felt that she wanted him because she was scared for her family.
The climax of the story is just so intense. Jeaniene really knows how to make a story go down with a bang, not like a limp noodle. Cat's emotions and power were so great to see, especially when she harnessed the power of fire and telekinesis at the same time. No one messes with Bones in her presence, even in the face of death.
I almost always have extreme reactions to the stories in this series. Tavia's acting ALWAYS puts you right into the story's drama. Also, the writing is just SO funny sometimes, to make your burst into tears you're laughing so hard, like when Mencheres was told to speak in the modern dialect for once, "The sh*t's gonna splatter, start buggin', yo.” I lost it as I was driving home from work. Not much is funnier than to imagine egyptian royalty dropping down ebonics.
I'm so glad that Audible suggested this author. These books have been keeping me company on my commutes for a while and I'll be so sad when there are no more books in the series! This definitely is not young adult vampire fiction!
Books are my addiction when it comes to "ME" time, you can usually find me under a warm fuzzy blanket with my Audible App engaged!
I have not read the printed version but there is a points in the story were I feel it is better to have the audio copy then the digital/printed copy. Some aspects of the book are more effective if they are heard rather than read.
When Cat was remembering her times with Gregor and then how it made Bones feel.
This series is the only time I have listened to Tavia narrate but she does an excellent job.
Yes I started it on Monday and will complete it on Wednesday. If life didn't happen I would have never taken my head phones out.
Yes, much better because the characters really come to life! The characters have great personalities! I found this series by accident and devoured the whole series in a week! Even if you are not a supernatural fan, you will enjoy this series. I will be glad when the next book is released. In the interim I've read the Night Huntress World Series and it's superb!!
The Elemental Magic series because both have strong characters and they are busy helping the underdog!
Bring the characters to life! She is great!
Vlad made me laugh and so did Ian! Her mother is funny also--she calls all the vampires blood suckers, etc.-- forgetting she is one of them!
Great series, buy it!
I enjoyed listening to the whole series. It was intertaining and funny.
When Kat and Bones meet.
The story comes to life.
When she left...
One of the best! The narrator is terrific!
The death of a major character and the sort of death of two others.
Bones is always my favorite and she does such a great job with the accent.
I wondered where Frost would take the story after the last book. And I have to say, I never say this coming. The suprises start from the very beginning and pretty much never stop coming. Cat and Bones once again put their love to the test, and not even the emergence of a Vampire who swears he married Cat before bones can pull them apart. Spade, Ian, Mom, Rodney, Vlad, and all the other good ones are back. Vlad proves he isn't the jerk Bones thinks he is. Cat and Bones adopt a new member into their entourage: a ghost! And the Ghoul Queen of New Orleans, Mystique comes into play, and I assume we will be seeing more of her in the future. A major character dies, permanently. And another major character dies, but comes back as one of the undead. Definitely the best of the series thus far!
I have enjoyed listing to every book that has been released in this series, including the mini books and spin offs. Tavia Gilbert read these books with ease and makes listening to them both fun and enjoyable. I have been able to sit in bed and listen for hours.
Every book is as good as the previous one!!! The characters are awesome and the scenes...well they are exciting (more ways than one) romantic and humorous!!! I love the narrator...she does an excellent job!!!
This is one of my favorite series I have read so far. I thought Rachel Morgan, the Hollows was my favorite until I read this series..Worth every credit or dollar on all books in this series including the spinoff books. Love Tavia Gilbert.
