Never ending drama gives you everything you need

If she writes "eyed them incredulously" one more time!! It's a good book good story. Brandon keep stringing these women along tbh. I like the passion. She really focuses on the interrelationships

So Good. Even better than the first book

What did you love best about Deception?

I love the twists and turns in the book. Even though the deception and the scandal follows the main character, all the people that judge her the most have their own dirty little secrets.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the main male character Brandon. He is the type of man I would want. Strong, honest, and follows the beat of his own drum. He does not allow others to make decisions for him about his life.

Have you listened to any of Diana Luke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I listened to her in the first of this group of books and she was excellent just like in this novel.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

He that has no sin, cast the first stone...

Any additional comments?

A third book is coming out in 2014 and I am so excited

Couldn't put it down!!!

What did you love best about Deception?

The plot! I also loved how the story picked up rt where the first book left off n kept things interesting all the way through.

What did you like best about this story?

The two main characters and their relationship.

Have you listened to any of Diana Luke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I think this was the first story I've heard her narrate.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Is love and forgiveness worth the risk after so much deception? Are second chances overrated? Or can true love really conquer all?

Any additional comments?

Yes, if there are ANY negative reviews I advise u to disregard them and check it out yourself bc this book was a credit VERY well spent if u ask me! I COULDN'T STOP LISTENING FOR MORE THAN MINS AT A TIME!

Second as Good as the First

Another hot installment! I can see the scenes as Diana speaks. She is a great narrator. Very vivid and animated. Tamia, Brandon, Cynthia, Fiona, and Dre are some characters from this story that I will never forget. This book of love, deception, betrayal and sacrifice was the bomb. Not to mention the sex scenes were fire. I am so ready to read book three. Definitely one of the top ten series I’ve read.

The plot thickens

This book was better than the first one. Fiona is a mess and has a lot of secrets. I also don’t think Cynthia is really pregnant. I hope Tamia doesn’t get back involved with Dominic. And I want Honey to let Keyshon out the pastor. On to book 3 for me. Oh and I love The way Diana Luke narrates, she is great.

Not as gripping as the first book, but...

Any additional comments?

Mystique.....I mean Tamia is a pretty rare character. She is so well developed. So if your a fan of the first book, This one is worth your time!!! As a man, I realize I am not the target audience for this book, but the writing is spectacular and the characters are complex and riveting. The inner dialogue of Tamia is very well developed...Love it!

This one has a lot of great plot twists and curve balls you don't see coming. One of my critiques of the first book was the power of Mrs. Chambers (Brandon's mother). She was on the edges, in the first book, but you sensed her tremendous influence over her husband and children. Her claws come out a bit in this book, I would have used her to go in a different direction than the author did, but it was still remarkable.

The reason I didn't go perfect on this review was twofold:

1st, The Cynthia story, while I won't ruin the plot for you, Cynthia becomes a bit more one dimensional. I don't think the author intended to vilify her, and clearly the writing shows she is one of the true victims in the book. You can't paint her as such a successful courtroom warrior, but such a weak character when it comes to Brandon. There is no black woman I know who would let her man defend his ex lover....none, nada...won't happen. I also didn't like the juxtaposition of Fiona and Cynthia having the same lover. It seems like the author had an idea of sewing that link into the story and making it some type of important piece of the story, but it is later forgotten, which begs the question why it was included in the first place?

2nd, Dominic Archer. This figure is so central to the first book, and this book starts off great by putting Archer squarely in the limelight, but then he quickly becomes a background noise. I hope he makes a comeback in the third book.
