This book was great!!! OMG, I enjoyed this book so much. Make sure you read part one first Exposed!!!! I finished both in less than a week, whenever I had a chance I had my ear phones on listening and enjoying every word. I loved all the twist and turns in the story, this was a very exciting read!!!!!
I couldnt wait for this part. I must say it did not disappoint. I listened from beginning to end non stop. Now I have to wait for the 3rd part. Oh how I hate waiting!
I've never listened to a book that just stopped in the middle of the story. I can't believe the reviews didn't warn me of this. If I'd known I'd get wrapped up in a book that was going to end before the storyline was wrapped up, I would've never wasted a credit on this book. The reviews also didn't advise me that this is a "erotic fiction", although I soon figured that out. Not that I'm a prude, I've listened to the 50 Shades trilogy, but I like to know what kind of genre I'm getting myself into.
At first the book was a little difficult to get into. It's obviously written for a certain ethnicity and the language used was a little off putting at first, but when I got into the characters, the language and different voices of the characters made a lot of sense. I have to give the narrator credit for all the different voices, including amazingly realistic voices for the men characters.
The characters were nicely evolved, interesting and fairly realistic. The story line was intriguing and I was really caught up in it, right up until the time it ended, with no warning, before the story was wrapped up. I looked online for a sequel but nothing! I was so irritated I had to wait a couple weeks before writing this.
I guess I'll keep looking for the sequel from Naomi. Hopefully she doesn't let me down.
This book was so great that I did not know there was a part 1. The author did an awesome job. I hope no one passes on this book.
I loved Tamia because she is a "go getter" someone who goes after what she wants and never give up.
She was very audible and her tone depicted each character well, it was an easy listen.
It was comical at times, made my heart race a bit for example when her ex broke in and when her love saved her well kinda lol
I wished Brandon wasnt so easy, it was like he had a miltiple personality, then again hmmmm lol
At the top
The whole book
All her parts
It made me Laugh, cry and also mad because it leaves you wanting more.
Can't wait until the next book comes out
The characters were very flat and very cliche, and the plot didn't keep my attention and was simply not believable. I'm not sure how any of that could have been made better. I just really disliked the book. After suffering through about an hour hoping that it would get better, I "tossed" it into the DNF pile and deleted it from my library.
I made a mistake and only looked at the star rating. If I would have read the reviews I would have known the story ends in the middle of a scene. So, this is my warning to you!!!
Books books books
I'm sorry but this book is not a fantasy book yet it's written like one. How is it that you are a ex- porno star who is in a promising relationship with a big time attorney and you cheat on him and end up getting framed for some guys murder. It's like the author said lets see how much crap I can throw into one book. Not to mention I knew just where to throw in "girl" during the conversations involving the women.
Mystique.....I mean Tamia is a pretty rare character. She is so well developed. So if your a fan of the first book, This one is worth your time!!! As a man, I realize I am not the target audience for this book, but the writing is spectacular and the characters are complex and riveting. The inner dialogue of Tamia is very well developed...Love it!
This one has a lot of great plot twists and curve balls you don't see coming. One of my critiques of the first book was the power of Mrs. Chambers (Brandon's mother). She was on the edges, in the first book, but you sensed her tremendous influence over her husband and children. Her claws come out a bit in this book, I would have used her to go in a different direction than the author did, but it was still remarkable.
The reason I didn't go perfect on this review was twofold:
1st, The Cynthia story, while I won't ruin the plot for you, Cynthia becomes a bit more one dimensional. I don't think the author intended to vilify her, and clearly the writing shows she is one of the true victims in the book. You can't paint her as such a successful courtroom warrior, but such a weak character when it comes to Brandon. There is no black woman I know who would let her man defend his ex lover....none, nada...won't happen. I also didn't like the juxtaposition of Fiona and Cynthia having the same lover. It seems like the author had an idea of sewing that link into the story and making it some type of important piece of the story, but it is later forgotten, which begs the question why it was included in the first place?
2nd, Dominic Archer. This figure is so central to the first book, and this book starts off great by putting Archer squarely in the limelight, but then he quickly becomes a background noise. I hope he makes a comeback in the third book.
I was upset because I did not know that this was a series. Please listen in this order:
I listened to Betrayal first, because no one pointed out that you must listen to the other two first.
