you will get hooked...

I've listened this whole series and I really enjoy it kind of like a soap opera. I really like parish for some reason i find him funny. The series is entertaining i wish the books were a little longer but i enjoy the series. If you like molly harper you will like this book as well I had to check and see if this is a pen name of hers. Don't let the not so good reviews sway you from this series if you like nice girls series you will love this as well.

Installment number two and twice as good.

I was forced to give the first story in this series a scathing, for me, review on audible because of production issues. The audio quality of the first book is bellow sub-par. I loved the narrator so much and was intrigued by the story I decided to go ahead with the second book and I am so glad I did. There were no productions issues. The narration was superb, Ms. Ronconi does such a good job giving each character their own voice, it is really so pleasant to listen to her.

The plot of this book was more developed and engaging than the first book. I also thought it was funnier than the first. Sebastian and Garnet continue to develop and define their relationship, although some of this seemed out of character to me. Garnet makes strides to reconcile with her past and identity. The secondary character that I found quite endearing are back, for the most part. My biggest problem with the story is that sometimes it seems abridged although it claims not to be. There would be phrases that sounded like they were referring something that happened earlier in the novel, except I don't think it did. This happened several times. Maybe these are things that will be addressed in forthcoming books in the series but they were mundane enough to not seem likely.

better in some ways / worse in some ways

I enjoyed the banter back and forth on this one more. I enjoyed the development of the story. The fact that it dealt with zombies, didn't overly amuse me ( I am not one for this whole zombie apocalypse deal) But it was still a good story. I got a little tired of how whiny and dense the main character was in this one, it was starting to get annoying. I am hoping as we go on in the story she will become less so.

If you are coming to these books from Molly Harper's books you will find them slightly disappointing, but they are a decent follow up, they just don't quite reach that level. Amanda Ronconi however is as excellent of a narrator in these as she is in Harper's and she does the voices differently so you don't feel you are listening to Jane while listening to these

Cute story

This was suggested to me by Audible because I listen to Molly Harper's books. This was a fun read but pales in comparison to Molly Harper's books.

Not too exciting

I wasn't expecting Shakespeare, but the plot left a lot to be desired. I couldn't bring myself to care about the Zombies and the ending got wrapped up way too easily. I didn't hate this one but I doubt that I will bother with the next one in the series.

Unparalleled

These books are some of the best in the genre. Not only are the writing, characters, and storyline perfection itself but the choice of Amanda Ronconi as narrator is really the only possible choice. She is the best narrator in the biz, making it difficult for anyone else to compete with her skilled performances. This is the second time that I have listened to these books and it will, most certainly, not be the last.

Good book

I liked the first book better but this was still a good book. I'm glad it was the same narrator. I also finished this one faster, I'm not sure if it was shorter or if I just listened more often.

Heroine makes crazy choices

Enjoy the series but the heroine seems to make mistake after mistake. Despite that, the story is unusual and engaging. I would like to see her rescue herself for a change instead of being rescued. But that's just me. Excellent narrator. Seriously, she is the very best.

Wonderful!

I really enjoyed this book! The story combines magic, with humor, love story, and action. The narrator is superb! I highly recommend this series!
