Old Time Classic Romance
Would you listen to Dark Fire again? Why?
Yes, but I am a long time fan of E.L. 1988'ish work. I no long purchase her newer work as they do not appeal to me. I own hard bound all her old classics and have waited for these classic to be recorded.
What did you like best about this story?
This is an old fashion core romance of the 80's, which I love. EL wrote a few which I pull out every few years an re read. My all time fave, too hot to handle will make you cry and know inner strength will overcome all. You must like hard core heros who in the end fall head over heels for the heroine, or this book is not for you.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I wanted this story and since it was not read by my Do Not Buy reader, laural merlington, I took a chance on this very expensive reader. I looked her up and she is not worth the money she got for it. Note: she was not bad, but $25.00 or a full credit was too much. She didn't take away from this listen,but she is no way on my want to get more listens list. she was good enough that I will listen again to this great book. Jonathan Davis, Sandra browns new reader is to die for! EL has not gotten a decent reader and she could get so much more work purchased if she did her homework. we Listeners are in for the reader. Of course as it is only 5 hrs long. This is a core romance classic, which you must love or you will be disappointed if you use a credit.

One of my all time fave, tell me no lies is abridged and I do not buy any abridged stories. If you are an EL fan of her older books, then this is a must buy. my other fave, beautiful dreamer was originally published as valley of the sun. This is read by one of my least fave readers, Laural merlington who I will not buy any more no matter what old fave of mine she reads.

Aggravating!!
The main characters in this book are just aggravating to listen to. Both of them are overly stubborn to the point of stupidity. Cannot even make it halfway through this book. And I normally like the author but the story here is terrible.
