Publisher's summary

Zarek's Point of View:

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?

Love in vein: listen to another Dark-Hunter novel.

"In turns angst-filled and laugh-out-loud funny, her latest once again delivers a sensual, fast-paced read with a hero who is definitely worth the risk." ( Booklist)

The story was painfully beautiful. It was well written and I enjoyed every minute. I could not have predicted a single moment.

Perfect for Paranormal Romance Lovers

Kenyon's Dark Hunter world is growing bigger (and hotter) with each book. If you like paranormal romance, this is a must read. And on audio, they are even more sexy with the character's accents done with professional narration. Readers are swept into this fantastical world. *Important to read this series in order.*

Wow! Way better on Audible!

Would you consider the audio edition of Dance with the Devil to be better than the print version?

Yes! I read and enjoyed the book very much, but listening to Fred Berman narrate, actually brought me to tears in parts!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Zarek, what a complex character! Sherrilyn did a mind twist on this one!

Which scene was your favorite?

The dream scenes at the beginning!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh yes! Too bad that was not possible as I needed to get some other things done, and the book kept making me stop to pay attention to what was going on!

Any additional comments?

I am so glad I decided to go ahead and get the audio version, even though I have already read most of these books and know the plot! Listening almost makes it a whole new story!

Badass Story

Very good book, at first I was kind of questioning the plot. But then I fell in love with it. You got to see the turmoil and the character turmoil through Zereks eyes. Made you feel for him and understand why he is the way he was. Ty for this awesome book!

We all need someone!

This story is a wonderful exposition of a child, crippled by a loveless and abusive life who is offered the chance of immortality to right the wrongs done to him. He is considered 'insane' because of an event in his distant past that he cannot remember and has been banished to the frozen regions of Alaska.

He has lived a difficult and lonely life, compensating by not allowing anyone to get close to him emotionally and his responses to others is always biting and apparently without guilt.

Astrid, a Nymph Judge, is sent to judge him prior to him being destroyed by the god Artemis, and the softer side of him is exposed. Even though he rejects the idea that he has any goodness or kindness within him, she will not give up.

Unknown to both of them, a killer from Artemis has already been sent to eliminate him and it is a race to save Astrid, the only person that has ever been kind to him. The only person he feels anything for.

Is he insane, or is he just misunderstood?
