Publisher's summary

Coming in Hot (SEAL EXtreme Team, Book One) was also included in SEALs of Summer boxed set.

Take control...

When militant Colombian guerrillas kidnap her clients, EXtreme Adventures travel agent Jenna Collins will do anything to rescue them, including hiring the Navy SEAL she's struggled to forget. Mack may take orders from her father, but Jenna's determined to convince the sexy SEAL to work with her. And to stick around this time.

Protect the girl...

Navy SEAL Mack Riley will take a jungle rescue in hostile territory over close contact with the admiral's daughter who loved him and left him. But when Jenna forces her way onto the rescue team, the admiral's orders to protect Jenna at all costs has Mack sticking to her as close as body armor. In the heat of battle, love has a way of breaching the strongest of defenses.

Frustrating!

Great dialogue, humor, plot.. But heroine's so stubborn, she's a liability. I want intelligent heroines!

Interesting plot however a weak female protagonist

The female protagonist was unbelievably unintelligent she almost caused the death of the soldiers several times and did not understand what she did wrong and was easily forgiven because she was a girl.
Even if this book was written 20 years ago the female character would be considered annoying and stupid

Staring into his baby blues!

I didn’t know you could hire Navy Seals to do your bidding. Maybe being the Admiral’s daughter had something to do with it, eh? Anyway, hired and/or ordered they are. Jenna, the Admiral’s daughter, is the travel agent for EXtreme Adventures, and her wealthy clients have been kidnapped by Columbian guerillas. Team leader Mack Riley and Jenna used to be an item. That is until Mack went back to the sandbox and Jenna went to Brazil. So much for love. Now the two lovebirds have another chance at it, as long as rescuing the wealthy clients doesn’t get in the way of romance. And in this tale of second chances, nothing does. There is some action in the jungle with the guerillas but most of the action is with Jenna and Mack. It’s a fun listen but Seal Team Six it’s not. Three.point.five.

Very exciting romance

My first my this author but not my last. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters which were well developed. My only drawback was Jenna was a little too headstrong & determined to get her way in situations she wasn’t the expert in & Mack let her push him too much when he should have taken control of the situation. Of course in real life a Seal team wouldn’t have let her tag along even in an off the books mission. She writes some hot love scenes which I love with a good story. Overall a great story that I’d recommend to others & I’ll be reading more of hers. Thou I didn’t care for his narration of Mack, Mr Levine did a really good job of the others & the females.

Heroine too stupid to live

I am so completely not interested in books where the author thinks its a good idea to depict women as stupid childish imbeciles. Seriously women are just not universally this dumb, stop writing them this way.
The heroine decides that she needs to lead a team of seals into South America - somehow this happens, nobody Makes it clear why this was accepted so easily, given that they new it would likely be ‘upset’ by what they face. Of course she nearly gets them killed because surprise, she is not fit enough, trained or familiar with this form of warfare.

In terms of romantic love, I’m just not feeling it at all. Hero is angry with her for not wanting a Navy person, despite her saying this is something she would never want right from the beginning. On the other hand what does it make her that she just goes along with the fuck buddy thing long enough that she can hurt his feelings.

Overall the writing wasn’t terrible just the characters and the setting and the story theme, not to my taste at all.

The narration...

The characters voices were okay but the narration was like listening to Joe Friday on Dragnet. I will do my best to avoid Levine in the future.

I'm Sick of Books With Stupid Women

What's so appealing about a so-called strong and independent woman who lacks common sense and humility? NOTHING! I found Jenna annoying and Mack whipped. They called it love. Whatever. At least the narrator wasn't annoying. It had that going for it.
