WHAT A GREAT STORY!

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK. THE NARRATOR WAS VERY GOOD. THIS HAD THE RIGHT BALANCE OF ROMANCE, SEX, SUSPENSE AND VIOLENCE FOR MY LIKINGS. I MAY JUST LISTEN TO IT AGAIN!

This should be a movie! FABULOUS

This story has all of the emotional elements and although the setting was historical, there was much to learn from the hatred and struggle for peace without racism that still exists today.
I loved hearing the Comanche words because of my heritage although I don't know the language.
The narrator was TERRIFIC and held my attention.

Story Good;Narration Not So Much

Although the story was a good one, the narration was distracting. I’m sure Ms. Phimister’s voice would have worked w/ many other books, however for this one it just wasn’t a good fit.

So much misery and angst.....

Catherine Anderson is a wonderful writer and has millions of devoted readers but unfortunately, this book was not for me, simply too much emotional torment and misery. Author’s particular talent lays in describing suffering and emotional torment in great detail and coming back to it, reiterating it over and over again, like twisting a knife …
I’ve stopped listening half way though; constant pull and tug between H/h, luck of trust, misunderstandings and all her insecurities towards relationships and physical intimacy plus a lot of physical violence, all of it was just too depressing.

The narrator’s voice...

I tried so hard to listen to the full audiobook, which is one of my favorite historical romance novel, but I just couldn’t like the narrator’s voice enough to finish. The pacing was so off, you could hear the sounds her mouth made in between speech, and her voice was just too scratchy and high.

Loved the Book - Not the Narrator

I thought the book was great, it grabbed me from the first page and I was never bored. The only reason it doesn't get a 5 star rating was that the narrator was distracting. Like a few of the other reviewers mentioned, the narrator frequently swallowed and took big, noticeable breaths. Even with the constant swallowing, the story was exceptional.

Great!

I loved this book, I really enjoyed the characters and how they developed. I was sad when it ended and hope for sequels to this entertaining book
