It's been a long journey. After a harrowing boyhood with his drug-addicted mother, he'd been taken in by the Quinn family, growing up with three older brothers who'd watched over him with love.
Now a grown man returning from Europe as a successful painter, Seth is settling down on Maryland's Eastern Shore, surrounded once again by Cam, Ethan, and Phillip, their wives and children - all the blessed chaos of the extended Quinn clan. Finally, he's back in the little blue-and-white house where there's always a boat at the dock, a rocker on the porch, and a dog in the yard.
Still, a lot has changed in St. Christopher since he's been gone - and the most intriguing change of all is the presence of Dru Whitcomb Banks. A city girl who has opened a florist shop in this seaside town, she craves independence and the challenge of establishing herself without the influence of her wealthy connections. In Seth, she sees another kind of challenge - a challenge she can't resist.
But storms are brewing that are about to put their relationship to the test. Dru's past has made her sensitive to deception and slow to trust. And Seth's past has made him a target of blackmail - as a secret he's kept hidden for years threatens to explode, destroying his new life and his new love.

"[Roberts has] once again crafted a poignant and often humorous tale. True to style, she has also thrown in just enough of the paranormal to tantalize. Guaranteed to please the many fans who were waiting for Seth's story." (Library Journal)
"James Daniels's voice conveys convincing female desire, as well as rough male camaraderie, and singes the listener's ears with Roberts's trademark passion." (AudioFile)
While each of these books could stand alone. It's a pleasure to read them in order. Once again I can't say enough about the narrators of each of them. James Daniels did a great job, just as the other's in bringing the story home. This family is what everyone longs for their families to be. When all of the Quinn's get involved in a problem look out, it's going to get taken care of. Tickled my funny bone when the dead grandma started talking to Seth. The way Nora Roberts ended this book makes me wonder If she might come back with another one. Wow if she does I will be first in line to get it.
I loved the entire series..
Seth meeting Drew.
The end when the family was all together.
Loved the story line. I am familiar with the Eastern Shore and I vividly could relate to the scenery
I read....a Lot!
it was great to reconnect with the whole family
Cam & Seth 'making up' after an argument
yes, as usual
I had read the 4 book series years ago - revisited as audio books to keep me company while I walk. Very well written - very emotional
Tell us about yourself! I am a retired senior who enjoys reading, literally and audibly. I play games on the computer (BFG) and Playstation
Just finished the series and found that I enjoyed this one the best. It's a light read, the story line the same in all the books; boy meets girl etc. etc. The storyline was incidental to the getting together of the couples in the first three books. I enjoy some romance however I want my storyline more. The series
would not be complete without the fourth book.
I prefer to listen to Nora Roberts as to reading her. It's easy to follow while I am driving. There were three narrators and the one in book 3 and book 4 were both very good. If you like Nora
Roberts I would recommend these books.
I love these series books that really make you feel like part of the family, so glad Ms Roberts gave us Seth's story as well, it wouldn't have been complete without it.
I absolutely loved this series! You fall in love with each and every character and the stories are interesting and intriguing.
I secretly hope that Nora will write a 5th book in this series.. perhaps the story of Aubrey?
Very much!!!! I felt it put the story in a different perspective hearing it than reading it.
I felt he sounded a little mechanical in the beginning but still did a great job.
The unbreakable family bond.
I hope that this turns into a movie!!! I would be there on premiere night!!!
I like listening to audio books over reading them myself because the narrators are able to bring so much more life into the story than I can.
My only problem with this book was the way Seth let his mother have such control over him. Anyone in their right mind wouldn't allow that to happen but he allowed it to go on for years. This was done in another of Nora Roberts books and it just made me annoyed with the story. The presence of Seth's mother in the story took away from the overall story. It would have been better had his conflict been about something else.
We waiting a long time for Seth and Nora Roberts didn't disappoint.
On the dock with Stella and Foolish
