In the New Species series a pharmaceutical company has genetically mixed beast DNA and man DNA with sexy results. In Brawn, the fifth book of the series, one of the muscular creations is sent to live with Becca. Her father, the leader of the human task force rescuing and working with the New Species, forbids her from interacting with him. Things heat up, though, when Brawn and Becca are kidnapped by a lab looking to breed more of Brawn’s kind. With sultry and impassioned voice Vanessa Chambers performs this mix of science fiction, action, and sensual romance that will perk the animal instincts of any warm-blooded listener.
Book 5 in the New Species series.
One look at Brawn, and Becca is wondering how he’d look without his clothes. He’s also instantly attracted to her, but has sworn never to touch a human female. They just aren’t sturdy enough for the type of rough sex Brawn enjoys most. When he learns he’ll be living under the same roof with Becca, Brawn simply sees it as a chance to broaden his knowledge of humans. Hopefully he can do so while keeping his hands off her.…
His good intentions go astray when they’re both kidnapped and locked together in a cage. Brawn finds himself reliving a nightmare when he’s once again subjected to breeding experiments at the hands of New Species’ enemies - who will use Becca to get what they want. Brawn and Becca will have to depend on each other if they hope to survive.
Listener Advisory: While each New Species book is a standalone, the greatest enjoyment will come from reading them in series order.

I am addicted to audiobooks. It makes my 1 hour (each way) commute go by without me becoming an agressive driver. lol
As usual Laurann does a fabulous job of keeping you interested in this book number 5 of her New Species series. She does such a good job of developing her characters, you feel like you are right there with them. It is getting hard to say enough good things about Laurann's New Species series because each one is just as good as the last, if not better because she brings in new, creative stories with each book. Love her writing and her creativity as well as her descriptions of each person, place and thing. Especially love how she hooks me on the next book by giving a preview of the first chapter of the next book. Has me hooked from the beginning. Love her work.
Yes, this Brawn has.
When Brawn finds out that he is going to be a father.
When Becca was saying that she is screwed and Trisha telling Slade to call Justice to tell him that shit has hit the fan.
Yes when Becca was telling Trisha and Brawn her story about her stupid husband.
Please kept Vanessa Chambers has the narrator for this series
Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm an addict.
This book is a case of believing the wrong lies and lack of communication. Another good addition to the series. Although the heroine was a little insane with all of her insecurities and misconceptions it was a little draining to me, I felt for Brawn. Also Trisha drove me nuts with all her know-it-all opinions. I enjoy the world building and look forward to listening to more books, luckily they are all a Whispersync audio so they were affordable. I also think it is genius of the author to allow the first chapter of the next book on all the books in the series, it wets the appetite for the next book. The narrator does a good job, easy to listen to.
Traveling therapist listening to AUDIBLE books while driving to far areas. Also host/produce radio show on KGLP 91.7 on staying positive!!
Still like this series due to great conflict/fight scenes. But still there is NEVER any mention of any other race other than the new species males & the pale human female with long hair (anglo) . No mention of a reporter, cop, waitress, healthcare worker or any other background character of different race just to throw in some inclusion for those non white reader/listeners. So far each book is about a male species falling for a human female (always anglo with pale skin & long hair age around 30 ish) STILL the stories grip & the conflict is great. In 2015 I'm surprised that there is no inclusion of other ethnics/races in stories but good writing is still good writing.. Will continue to follow series and spend my money for them. Four stars was for great story without ANY diverse characters weaved in the story. I wish that the author would consider making a MINOR character with dark skin. In America everyone runs into someone with DARK skin in their day to day activity. Unless you live isolated & not in touch with the global world.
Very well written book.
Eight times...my gosh
I kept wondering how the author was going to pull this off without going too dark, she did a great job.
This series is dominating my life right now. My house is so clean, my yard work all caught up. Never folded clothes as fast as I did while the two characters were in a cage. You know you've got it bad for a book when you look for things to do to listen to it.
Great job from beginning to end. I enjoy a book that makes me feel (like a roller coaster ride!) narrator has been consistNt with characters they the entire series, makes it more enjoyable! On to the next book.
This was a good story in the New Species series. I really did not enjoy the fact that both a Brawn and Becca were captured by Mercile and held in cages. I also got tired of hearing Becca push Brawn away. Just got a bit too repetitive. Overall though it was a good story and great narration.
Real life problems are shed to light in these books and I love to see how they are resolved. Nothing like real love, sexy men and hot sex to get your mind off troubles and focused on bringing your fantasy to life with the one you love....I'd love to see Brawn dance!
