Respecting her late mother's wish, Shannon travels, however reluctantly, to County Clare. There, her loneliness and shame melt away in the embrace of the family she never knew existed. And amid the lush Irish landscape, steeped in mysticism and legend, she discovers the possibility of a love that is meant to be.

Of the three in this trilogy, I was surprised to find I liked the other two better. The best one for me was "Born In Ice." They all strike chords in one, but for some reason this one didn't with me. This could be for a lot of reasons having to do with me, not the books. I read this one last.
The narrator was wonderful, and I really enjoyed listening to the performance. I have read other Nora Roberts books in print form, and I am considering getting them through Audible so I can "hear" that Irish voice for real.
The last book in the trilogy was ok. The main character Shannon made me want to kick her at times.
I am a big fan and enjoy Nora Roberts very much and would gladly try other books.
I liked the narrator very much.
I really enjoyed Born in Shame as well as the other 2 books in the series. Having a natural Irish voice for a series set in Ireland makes the listening easy and enjoyable & Fiacre Douglas does an amazing job making the story come to life. Nora Roberts does not disappoint in her descriptive writing, as I can picture the main character in all her different surroundings. The romance is not unrealistic; both characters are very believable. Definitely my favorite of the Born in Series.
I love a romance and throw in a bit of mystery too. Must have repartee and ongoing (sometimes witty) interaction between the characters to be most enjoyable.
A wonderful story made real by the narrator's gorgeous Irish accent!
This book is a worthy follow-up to the first two "Born In...." books.
The characters come alive and the interplay between them is very entertaining with many a chuckle being the result.
Excellent audible, great narrator I did want to even take a break from listening to it, I have now purchased more of Nora Roberts books
I am fast becoming a Nora Roberts fan! I've known for some time that she is a wonderful writter, but since I started with her more recent books, I am now visiting her older books. I've enjoyed this trilogy inmensely! You fall in love with all the characters and you absorb her love of Ireland. The three books are wonderful stories about characters you can relate to, in situations you can relate to. My favorite is Born in Ice, but I just LOVED Murphy in all three of the books, so it was wonderful to finally read his story, and to revisit with old characters in the process!!!
This trilogy was one of the BEST I have EVER read. I think I feel in love with Murphy too :-)
It took me ages to start on this series again, purely because I couldn't get past the narrator, but I so enjoyed the first book's story line, I just had to.
The 3 books come together beautifully - well predicted but that's why you read her!
The narrator - I just didn't like - I sort of cut him off and only listened to the story - if one can understand that.
Still worth the read!
This book was just decent. The characters weren't quite as well thought out or developed as in the other two books and the plot was a bit lacking.
I'd say it's great for a one time read, but don't get it if you're looking for something you can listen to repeatedly.
