Critic reviews

"The conflicts Maggie and Rogan face are refreshingly realistic and the characters themselves, well-rounded and likable, will keep readers engaged." ( Publishers Weekly)

Speed Demon

Would you consider the audio edition of Born in Fire to be better than the print version?

Born in Fire is a dependable Nora Roberts romance, but this narrator takes some getting used to. There were times that he was speaking so fast that I had to check my iPod to make sure it wasn't set on the faster reading speed.

Love Ireland

If you have traveled to Ireland or hope to travel this book with story, characters and landscape is wonderful. I am in the category of I traveled to Ireland last year and it brought me back to Ireland and its people. This trilogy was wonderful to connect the characters and narrate a complete story.

Well worth the listen

This is not my favorite Nora Roberts series, but it is still well worth the listen. The story was good and I did like the characters. Fiarce Douglas was great. It definately made me want to visit Ireland, the description of the land and lore was supurb.

Her earlier Irish trilogy

I listened to this first story in the trilogy as an homage to Ireland on St Patrick’s Day. I did read the printed version when published years ago, and I’ve had it in the back of my mind that this was one of Roberts’ better earlier trilogies.
Older sister Maggie Concannon idolizes her father who has supported her dreams of being a glass artist. She is emotionally crushed when he dies out on the sea cliffs when she is alone with him; and mystified when he utters the name Amanda.
Maggie has had a terrible relationship with her mother all of her life; and tries to interact with her as little as possible. She tries to support her sister financially since there’s a lien on the home which was left to Brianna; and their demanding mother lives with her.
Maggie does everything she can to ignore gallery owner Rogan Sweeney; first professionally, then personally, but its meant to be;-)
I was a bit surprised to have a male chosen to read a primarily female story, but Douglas’ Irish accent works.

This man does not do justice for this book.

The book is excellent. The man reading this book is the wrong person for it. I gave up because it was just to irritating.

Would make a great movie.

Needs a man and a woman to read the book. It would give the imagination help in picturing the Story.

One of Nora Robert's best!

I love the book a wonderful story and a wonderful Irish acent by the story teller. I love the story when an artist is one of the main characters. She brings out the feelings of the artist in her story's so we'll. Thanks for the story.

An Excellant Surprise

The story line, vocabulary, and all around presentation was excellent. I was expecting a mystery novel when I purchased this book, but was not disappointed and was pleasantly surprised as I got into the story.

A Great Read

I can count on listening to a good firery romance when I pick one of Nora Roberts' books. This was great, loved the Irish brouge. The narrator was too fast in the beginning but slowed down and it was more enjoyable.
