A seduction-gone-wrong leaves vampire Parker Hollis with a new vegetarian lifestyle and on the run from a vengeful witch. Moving to small-town Maggie's Grove, Parker meets a redheaded dryad with green, leafy blood that draws him in a way he hasn't experienced in decades. His new neighbor smells divine, and it isn't long before craving gives in to need.
In a unique community of supernaturals, tree-loving outcast Amara Schwedler has never quite fit in. She's scarred by a traumatic incident and feared by the local townsfolk. She's convinced Parker will look elsewhere for a mate once he discovers she's not one of the O-positive set, and can't believe it when Parker finds her irresistible.
When the witch who's been plaguing Parker's life discovers the newfound attraction between Parker and Amara, she takes out her anger on the town. Can the supernaturals of Maggie's Grove accept Amara and band together in time to withstand the assaults of the enraged witch?

Audiobooks are great tool in dealing with my ADHD. They limit distractions while listening and I don't have to sit still. PS. I can't spell
It's an interesting twist on the traditional paranormal soulmate story. I enjoyed and 'liked' all the characters, even the bat guanou crazy ones. I didn't find the sex over the top or out of context. The wide variety of species calling Maggie's Grove home bodes well for an interesting future
PNR is my prefered genre, but I also enjoy any lighthearted, funny, steamy stories. Listening to books helps me to do mindless housework.
Due to the over the top explicit detailed and excessive sex in this book, I'd be too embarrassed to recommend this book. A little passion in a book is great, but this actually fell into the 'gross' catagory for me.
Oh, the story itself was a great idea! A vampire with a curse where he can only eat the blood of a plant, only to discover his mate is a dryad? That's a fantastic idea! I also enjoyed the mystery surrounding Amara, why she was an outcast in a town of supernaturals, and the redemption and respects she finds.
girly, and too sweet (at times), what I tend to think of as a typical 'harliquin romance' sort of voice.
Not sure about this, I've certainly see alot worse stuff being made into movie/TV.
"Where can I get a Bus to Maggie's Grove?"
This is the first audio book that I have purchased but it will not be my last by this author as I have now purchased the sequel Throne of Oak.
I loved all the secondary characters in the book and the relationships between them all. I love that Amara found some special to love her and that Parker was very protective of her.
My favourite scene was at Monster movie night when Parker and Amara had their first date.
When they other Dryads apologised to Amara for ignoring her.
This is the first audio book that I have purchased but it's not my first book by Dana Marie Bell. Dana introduces you into a town where vampires, wolves, witches, dryads etc all live togther.
