By blood, by word, by magic….

Most can’t touch the power. But Liv Warren is special—a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood. Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.

But when her friend’s daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath,Liv can’t rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.

Bound by oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma, and danger lurk around every corner… every touch… every kiss. And more blood will be spilled before it’s over.

Meh.

Everything i hated that happened in the authors shifters series show ups here. Incredibly smart heroine making incredibly stupid choices for no reason. Its sad cause i really like this author, but no more.

Give me a break

I ran across this in audibles romance package and thought I'd give it a shot. I didn't make it very far before I realized that I had made a mistake. It started out promising with somewhat of a cool premise but around the time the main characters friend showed up demanding her help, I totally lost interest. I mean, who comes at someone asking what she's asking with that level of expectance? And then when the protagonist gave in the way she did because she felt obligated to do this thing I couldn't take anymore. That and the dialogue feels very immature. On that note, the narrator was decent with narration and female voices but horrible with masculine characters.

That's the only problem with the romance package.... it's mainly cheesy bottom of the barrel stuff.

Just OK, Couldn't Stick With It

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

It wasn't a terrible book, the characters were interesting, there were some good plot twists, and an interesting fantasy premise. I just couldn't get into it because it was kind of far-fetched, and I didn't really like most of the characters. Although I was curious to see how it ended up, I just didn't care enough to finish the book.

What does Gabra Zackman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Gabra Zackman did a great job with the voices and pacing.

logic sold separately

when you constantly want to pull out your hair because the charters are too dense and slow to understand the facts they are laying bare, you know it's the end to what could have been a promising series (maybe if it had a better editor to stop the logical leaps, missing pieces and lack of character integrity). only reason to recommend this book is so others can try in vain to explain the lack of sense in the characters development, loyalties, actions, and problem solving (or lack there of).
