"I brought Laurie back to meet her father. I brought her back to meet you."
I'm normally not into jocks, but when Troy Wood asks me out, I feel like I'm the Chosen One. After all, he's hot as hell and Silver Lake's best athlete, practically the king of campus.
God's gift to women - that's what they call him, but I'll make a gentleman out of him.
Everything is perfect, and he already practically has his ticket to the big leagues.
There's just one little problem. I'm hiding a secret that could destroy him and his future. I can't tell him.
I can't tell him that I'm pregnant with his baby.

Troy, he was sweet and loving to Whitney even while he was going through everything in his home life and also when she did what she did to him. He could have been really upset about the lost time but he just went with it. I do think he should have been mad at least a little/
Melissa Moran did a really great job with the voices, the only one I did not care for was the little girl.
This book was a bit of an emotional roller coaster at times. More often than not my heart broke for Troy.

Sweet, emotional rollercoaster.
Troy, he was a sweet loving father when given the chance.
The game when she saw her Dad for the 1st time.
I would have loved to listen all night
I loved this book, the one thing I didn't like was that she keep him from his daughter for 5 years.

this book was made by the narrator. But for her it would have gotten a few less stars. Troy is a good guy that you expect to be a bad guy. His high school sweetheart found herself pregnant and made a decision for all three of them not to tell him. Thinking that if she tells him then he will not follow his dream. What happens when they get back together? This story has parts the you know would not really happen. Fiction should be closer to real life.

Sweet story. This story begins as a High School Romance which made me think this was mistakenly placed in contemporary adult romance, but about half way through the story transitions into adulthood. The story did keep my attention throughout, but is a bit on the mild side in its genre.
The narrator, Melissa Moran is fantastic!

Too busy to read as much as I'd like, Audible is the perfect solution. I'm a romance reader mostly, but can stray into any story.
I was totally surprised with this book as I chose it based on the cover photo... Great way to be surprised by books you haven't heard of, right?
I was completely entertained. It starts out in high school and just as immature and on the surface as high school is, the author portrays that. We are then taken into adult life and complications.
For me, this book was entertaining & steamy with a healthy serving of angst. This book has been sitting on my kindle, but I'm glad I waited for the narration because Melissa Moran does a great job portraying these characters.

High school seniors...Troy has a horrible family life, is a star football star, and can have any girl (and does) he wants. Whitney blossomed during the summer before senior year and Troy notices her. They quickly fall for each other..until Whitney suddenly leaves town and Troy is heartbroken.
Five years later Whitney comes back to town with an Five year old daughter and runs into Troy who has made it to the NFL.
Troy and Whitney are still and love and fears and stubbornness keeps them apart for awhile.
Enjoyable and sweet, interesting how Troy starts out as the character you think will break Whitney's heart and it finishes the another way around. Although you do like both characters.
I am 71 year's old I listen to a lot of mysteries I like cute ones I really like the cozy mysteries I like Christmas mysteries and horror

I am a fun loving mom that enjoys a great Book!! I'm happy to have Audible with a busy life it makes it so easy to still get lost in a book!
This was a cute fun story!! The Narrator did a really good job! I could always tell the difference in each character & to me, that's important!! Whitney does make me want to scream at her SO MUCH & there was a few places that if this were in Real life I think Troy would've been SO MUCH MORE UPSET then how he was in the story ***SPOILER AHEAD*** Like when she took off & didn't tell him about the baby & 5 years Later he was like oh it's ok I just love you so it don't matter that I had to miss the first 5 years of my daughters!
OVERALL It was a pretty good story!!
This is my first Lauren Landish book, and while it starts out young adult, I found it to be enjoyable. Bringing me back to that fall of my own senior year, I was taken on the journey of Troy and Whitney. That first true love is so pure and innocent. Little did they know what life had in store. Troy had a terrible home life, was an incredible football player and upon graduation wanted to get out and start his adulthood. He wanted Whitney to be a part of that. Whitney finds out she is pregnant, and decides for them both that she would disappear rather than have Troy do the honorable thing and marry her, giving up his dreams. Five years later, neither of them have moved on. While they both have grown up and matured, their love never died. Whitney comes back, and Troy immediately forgives her for not telling him about Laurie, his daughter. While that to me was a little too easy, the story had depth and emotion. The characters were well developed and I really enjoyed the story.
Melissa Moran has the perfect voice your young adult/new adult books. This book incorporated both with high school and mid twenties, so I found her portrayal of the characters believable and well performed.
