Audie Award Finalist, Erotica, 2016
Roth and I are on an open-ended tour of the world. Roth being Roth, this means missionary in Morocco, reverse cowgirl in Calcutta, bent over the bow of a houseboat in Hanoi, slow and sleepy on St. John. Anywhere and everywhere, in every conceivable position and some I didn't know were possible. Life is pretty incredible. Until I wake up in his chateau in France alone. On the bed next to me is a note. There are only four words: "He belongs to me."

I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Wow, what a powerful, intense, harrowing and heartbreaking story this is as an evil twisted bitch from Roth's past shows up which seriously puts everyone's lives in jeopardy and the results are dangerous, devastating and it does terrible physical and mental damage to Roth and Kyrie's relationship..... and their very lives.
It's an action-packed ride with no way of knowing what's next... except more intrigue, suspense, violence, twists, heartache, passion and lots of sex. It was addictive, pulse-pounding, shocking, climatic, chilling, thrilling and oh so romantic and touching.
Told from both POV's the female narrator was much better than the male because he sometimes didn't quite get into the scene.
Worth a credit? Oh yeah, Jasinda you are at the top of your field, and I can't wait for Omega (book 3) which will hopefully be the conclusion and the HEA that this loving couple so deserves and I'll be looking out for it's release later this year as planned.
What a disappointment!!! Look, I loved Alpha and I read the reviews for beta so I knew I was getting into a dark story. But this was terrible for the following reasons:
1. Roth is a little biatch. He gets kidnapped and raped. This simply would not happen to Gideon Cross or Eliah Al-Saud. Kidnapped? Yeah. Tortured? Yeah. But chained to a bed and raped for 3 days by an ex-girlfriend? No. Then when said ex-girlfriend kidnaps Kyrie, its Roth's (one and only) personal security guard who makes the plans, has the foresight to bring money to hire help, and its ultimately Kyrie who disposes of the threat. So what's the point of Roth's existence? ...there is none.
2. STDs. They are not concerned about getting them. Look, I personally hate when I'm reading a smutty novel and just when things are getting good, the characters have to stop to reach for a condom. I'm a married woman - Condom use aint sexy to me. BUT after being raped for 3 days, I think a man should at least take some PrEP before he sleeps with his girlfriend again. Just sayin'. That whole scene, I found myself wishing for a condom to magically appear. ***shudders***
3. The narration is bad. Tyler what-his-face sounds bored. No inflection in his tone, nothing to distinguish which character is speaking. I let my husband listen and he said is sounded like the guy was reading the news.
In short, if you liked Alpha, don't read Beta. If you didn't like Alpha, you won't understand Beta. So bascially, no one should read this.
A detailed account of erotic exploits with a mafia type subtext leaves you flat in the middle of the story. Want to find out how it ends? Buy book three, four and five . It would be nice to know this before you buy book one and two.
I feel cheated.
I will definitely listen to this again but not for a month or so, some books I can listen to a few days later but this one will take me time to recover from.
This book is in a class all its own.
They both did a fabulous job, I always look for dual narrator books and this one was done beautifully
This is NOT your mothers romance novel
I am not sure why this is listed in the Romance section, I guess in a round about way this is a romance but I would put it in the Fiction area more, there are a lot of hot and heavy sex/love scenes and Valentine and Kyrie are in love but the trouble that catches up from Valentine's past is for sure NOT love, the rape scenes are heart-aching, there is a lot of violence in the book but if you can make it through and NOT fast forward it is worth it. I love ANY book that gets my heart racing and makes me have to fast forward then go back and listen once I know all is well. This is NOT for the faint of heart, but if you are looking for something 'outside of the box', this is for you!
I didn't see the storyline unfolding from Alpha and I loved it! The twists and turns were so unexpected. I can't wait for Omega. The male narrator was very drab but the story was perfect.
Don't waste your credit. Might have enjoyed it, but the narrators where horrible, just felt scripted. I had a hard time finishing it.
If you have read/listened to the Madame X triolgy, know that this series is not as emotionally deep as Madame X. This is not necessarily a criticism. Madame X leaves the reader unsettled due to the continued suffering that a reader knows that key characters must suffer. I, personally, could not live on a diet of such literature. I need a flow of resolution and HEAs between the "Madame X " stories or reading would cease to be entertainment. Both types of stories are needed for a balenced diet. This story has action, drama, erotica, suspense and more. There is violence and examples of sexual deviance, sexual abuse, including rape and cold blooded murder. Therefore, if you cannot handle these things, choose something else to read/listen. It is an unique story, especially in this genre, but it has enough predictability to comfort a reader. I think it is definitely worth the three credits.

The new level of action. Hot girls, guns, and explosions. I was glad Harris stepped up.
Layla, she is no holds barred, and sexy as hell
The brightness of her future was swallowed up by the darkness of his past.
