Publisher's summary

Ember Walsh is a trusting soul with the quiet beauty of her late mother, who perished in a mysterious car crash when Ember was three. A little tomboyish from being raised by her father, Ember packs a punch when a stranger gets pushy with her in a bar, catching the steely blue eyes of a tall, gorgeous tattooed man — Trace Montgomery. Still damaged from her last disastrous relationship and warned off the bad boy by friends, Ember fights the smoldering heat that Trace sparks in her when he begins shadowing her like a dark angel.

Burdened by a lifetime of horror and heartbreak, amateur fighter Trace doesn’t want to want Ember. His deep self-loathing keeps him from having any meaningful relationships, but Ember is an itch he can’t scratch. The two push and pull, slowly crumbling their walls, seemingly brought together by fate, because the turmoil that haunts their pasts is interlinked in undeniable ways. But can these two fighters finally lay down their arms?

In Beautifully Damaged, L.A. Fiore delves into deep scars and lets love and forgiveness uncover redemption.

I wish there was a male voice for the male role. <br />

I liked it enough to get the second book. Hope it's as good or better

OMG

Who knew. You could not see the end, I love the shift in character and role play. Tough girl. The title had me, kept passing it over. But it was a good read. An awesome read. On to the next!

Ridiculous but I liked it anyway

What to say about the plot... Not at all original on its own-it was a bunch of cliche plots pulled together into one book. Over the top, unrealistic to the 100th degree. It was utterly ridiculous especially crammed into one story. There were a number of cheesy lines however it was not at all poorly written. And although it was utterly ridiculous and should have had me cringing and returning the book, I found myself shaking my head at the cheesy lines and crazy but predictable plot turns saying to myself "seriously" yet completely enjoying the book anyway. The narrator did a great job. And honestly for all of this story's absurdity I found that I really, REALLY liked the characters. It should have been a disaster, was kind of a disaster, and still I found it totally worth the credit!

Romance and More

This story was romantic, filled with drama and an emotional journey. The complex plot included plenty of story lines involving secondary characters as well. It all kept me hooked. Well done narration held it all together and made for a great listen. Now I'm waiting for the next book in the series.

A BROKEN HERO SAVED BY LOVE.... BEAUTIFUL

An intense heartbreaking love story between mentally scarred, tattooed, sexy, handsome bad boy Trace whose abusive past has made him a cold-blooded Fighter and a man-whore. When shy Ember, who lacks confidence and has low self-esteem, sets eyes on the drool-worthy Hunk she knows he's out of her league.... but she can dream right. Well sometimes dreams can come true but their relationship is built on painful secrets, bitter lies and danger then suddenly her new and perfect love comes crashing down on her with heartbreaking results. And it's not until Trace's tightly locked Pandora's Box of deeply hidden secrets, actions and demons are all set free can the truth, revelations and surprising links be slowly but finally pieced together and the whole devastating picture is revealed.

A very imaginative, compelling, clever and riveting storyline with mystery, suspense, drama, an emotional roller-coaster ride about self-sacrifice and the power of unconditional love. Because the understanding and patient Heroine forgives, fights and desperately hangs onto her Hero she eventually heals his lifeless world and the reward is a strong unbreakable love and a HEA. This Contemporary Fictional drama has plenty of twists, strong secondary characters and a touching, tender, cruel and compelling love story.

Worth a credit? There was so much to this bitter-sweet romance and no amount of words can properly describe it.... except maybe YES a very creditworthy purchase.

second half was good

I almost gave up on this book SO MANY times. the heroine is a doormat an she never grows a back bone an that drove me nuts. She won't leave the hero no matter what he does. luckily by the second half he treats her better

Riveting! I loved this book!

Would you listen to Beautifully Damaged again? Why?

I've listened to this book at least 3 times now. And can't wait to listen to it again. Such a beautiful moving story of pain and healing.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Beautifully Damaged?

One of the many outstanding moments that I enjoyed was when Ember's father finally reached through Trace's pain to let him know just how worthy Trace truly is. Worthy of love, of friendship, of respect, and of his daughter.

Which character – as performed by Amy Rubinate – was your favorite?

Of course the main character of Ember Walsh is my favorite. But all of the characters are full and rich as read by Ms Rubinate.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The lengths Trace goes to to bring the couple back together after he forced their breakup is exquisite. I loved everything about it.

Any additional comments?

I loved everything about this book. It flowed beautifully between the romance and the mystery of how the lives of the two families are forever entwined. And how the damage in ones soul can be healed with faithful love.
