Publisher's summary

Diana Gabaldon's immensely popular Outlander saga soars to new heights with this seventh novel, which takes listeners on a breathtaking journey to 1777 America.

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army.

And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Epic in scope and featuring a colorful cast that includes many legendary figures - including hero-turned-traitor Benedict Arnold and bawdy statesman Benjamin Franklin - An Echo in the Bone is a thrill from start to finish.

Seventh in the Series

Diana Gabaldon's ability to keep readers following the story of Jamie and Claire is a testament to her talent as one of the best storytellers.

Must keep reading this series!

And, thank God, Davina Porter remains the reader.

I am sad there is only one more book in the series. I like this book the best so far.

A world apart! Wonderful and addictive.

What did you love best about An Echo in the Bone?

The story, the voice the history and most of all the Claire, Jamie and all the characters!

What other book might you compare An Echo in the Bone to and why?

The complete Outlander series has the same quality and the voice of Davina Porter brings them all tom life in a magical way.

Which scene was your favorite?

Jamie saying goodbye to the Ridge and praying “to be enough”!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I both laugh and cry and all of them became my family for a while and forever.

Any additional comments?

I am, as all the fans, waiting for the next book and hope from all my heard that Davina Porter will be the narrator. I cannot imagine otherwise.

An Echo in the Bone

It is with guilty pleasure that I am downloading this book as I write. My son purchased the hardbacked book for me as soon as it came out and I was thrilled! But, it is a very heavy book and I have little actual time to read except when I go to bed. That's a really heavy whack in the face when I nod off so I am thrilled that I will be able to "read" while I do my mindless chores and my daily commute. Thrilled to see that Davina Porter is back as narator, she did such a wonderful job in the earlier books. Love DG's work and look forward to this new addition...hopefully, she will continue the saga!

Exceptional Storytelling

Just as good the second time around! I had to re-read. I missed the characters, which have seemed like family, too much to stay away!

Enjoyable read

It got a little bogged down in the battle scenes but all in all enjoyable. New interesting plots are also introduced for future books. Wonderful performance by the narrator as usual!
