Publisher's summary

At long last, Lori "Naughty" Sullivan falls in love in Always On My Mind, the new book in Bella Andre's New York Times and USA Today best-selling series about the Sullivan family.

After a tragic loss three years ago, Grayson Tyler left his life in New York City behind and started over in the rolling hills of the California coast. He's convinced himself that all he'll ever need again is the blue sky, a thousand acres of pasture, and the crashing waves of the ocean. Until one day, Lori Sullivan barges into his life and promptly blows his emotionless and solitary world to shreds, driving him crazy as only a woman nicknamed "Naughty" can. But will Lori be able to convince him that it's safe to love her...and that forever isn't actually out of reach?

My favorite of the Sullivan Family Series

Lori and Grayson were perfect for each other HOT HOT. Grab a blanket a glass of wine and enjoy. Bella Andre has successfully wrote a best seller again. This was my favorite Sullivan Family book, Love is always better the second time around. This Sullivan Family is pure fantasy but it inspires you to be your best whatever that maybe it's ok to step out of your comfort zone. We can all try to be the family matriarch that Mary Sullivan is. I can't wait for her Love story. Eva Kaminsky does a wonderful job narrating.

We have been waiting for Naughty

Finally Lori (Naughty) Sullivan takes front row in book eight. It's only fitting, she has been the upbeat glue used lavishly in the previous books to always speak her mind and cement relationships or make outlandish declarations. In this book we see the depth of her patience and her empathy come out. In this interesting plot, Andre paints a vivid picture of Lori and her romantic story.

Grayson saw it coming, he just couldn't stop it. The setting on the farm is perfect. A better setting couldn't have been done. You will get you fill in the book. Just remember what goes around comes around. Thumbs up on this one.

Better than some of the others in the series

Any additional comments?

This is one of the better books in the series. I was reluctant to get this one but it turned out better than I expected. I was bored with the books on Marcus, Gabe, & Ryan. This had a better and more believable story. I don't want to give anything away but the ending was GREAT!

Lovely romance turns trite and treacly sweet

I was enjoying this romance for a while until towards the last quarter when it got sickly sweet and silly. And a little embarrassing.
The couple has clinched the romance all over the farm and the inevitable death of the old barn cat dying of leukemia dies offering the heroine the opportunity to be ridulous about the cat she's known for less than 2 weeks (I'm a lifelong multiple pet household so I get the pain). But Andre has to create a situation (why? to bring them even closer together?) and it feels forced-the whole scene as they bury the cat and he's preparing for her histrionics while she waxes philosophical instead. So, everything is going great w/ Grayson, no clouds on horizon, and Lori thinks to herself "nothing is forever, Sweet Pea (the cat) taught her that". I love romance to death, but I wanted to choke on a chain saw. Its like the author took a vacation and came back and had to finish it quick.
Then it followed with silliness with her brothers (including the "lethal" pitcher--sorry, I had to giggle at that). Its all manufactured obstacles and no flow, no logic.
I can't recommend this book unless you are addicted to the series and need to finish it. I'm not at all compelled to read the others in the series. I've enjoyed several Bella Andre books. This isn't one of them.

Did I get the same book as everyone else?

This was the worst in the series and the worst in general. I waited thinking it would be the best but I was wrong. Too predictable! Unrealistic! No imagination at all. Seriously???

NOT MUCH UMPH !

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes. Lori's constant swearing that she'll never fall in love, never need a man, etc., etc. I think once was enough especially in light of the fact that she did so quickly.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I think there could have been a little more UMPH ! The story was not very dynamic and very predictable. Don't get me wrong, I like the chemistry between Grayson and Lori, however, the story/plot around them was very blah.

Have you listened to any of Eva Kaminsky’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. I think she is very good.

Was Always on My Mind worth the listening time?

Yes, but only because I don't miss much of Ms. Andre's books and will continue to purchase the audio versions, so long as she can pick up the pace. There is too much competition out there for her to lag behind.
