A Matter of Circumstance

SUNSETS & SECRETS

After an easy day studying coral in the Bahamian ocean, Amanda Blayne returns to shore looking forward to a cool drink and a lazy afternoon. But the tranquil waters turn dark and treacherous when Amanda is ruthlessly abducted in broad daylight. With her captors demanding a ransom that no one can pay, Amanda's hope dims and she begins to panic.

Sean Ramiro, an undercover cop from Miami, is tasked to covertly observe the safe arrival of the senator. Instead, he witnesses Amanda's abduction and immediately throws himself into danger, pretending to be Amanda's lover to try to protect her. The two are playing a perilous game, but find it's easy to play along when irresistible tension builds between them…

The New Deputy in Town

New York Times bestselling author B. J. Daniels brings you back to Whitehorse, Montana for more edge-of-your-seat intrigue.

THIS NEW DEPUTY DIDN'T EXPECT HIS FIRST CASE TO INVOLVE A WEDDING AND A FUNERAL

Deputy Sheriff Nick Rogers found out small-town life meant adjusting to two things—gossips and Laney Cavanaugh. And neither was much help in solving a bridal shower murder.

Some days it appeared like everyone in Whitehorse had a secret—including their new lawman. And falling for Laney wasn't a good way to maintain a low profile. Nick might have been new to Whitehorse, but he wasn't above getting his hands dirty. Even if everybody in Laney's family had it in for the victim, and they were fixing for a fight. Wedding bells were always trouble, and, unfortunately, trouble always had a way of hunting Nick down.

Enjoyed both stories

This was a a fun read with humor, romance, mystery and great characters. The women were spunky and the men kept trying to be honourable good guys which made them real heroes. You have to enjoy reading about men with integrity. So few seem to have it these days.

Know what you are getting

For some reason, I expected a suspense/mystery involving an undercover cop and a kidnapping. Instead, the story was predominantly a romance story. Most of the story revolved around the "sexual energy" between the kidnap victim and the cop. Did they get to physical intimacy, then did they freak out. The story concludes with the victim being deceived into marrying the cop (not a spoiler: was pretty obvious from the start). What a great way to start a marriage! If that is what you are looking for, then this is for you; steamy conflict. If you wanted a suspense, then be prepared to dig deep to find the small part that fits the bill.

Graham book is from 1980’s

I got through the Graham book but just barely - the female character was an idiot! This isn’t like Graham’s newer thrillers.
