"Heading for superstar status." (Detroit Free Press)
As usual Beverly Jenkins tells a story of love, adventure and history like none other. You will enjoy the story of the mail order brides, of color, adventure as they travel from Chicago to the west via wagon train. You will laugh, and cry as you listen to the story told by an OUTSTANDING orator. Jackson and Grace's story will have you hooked from start to finish.
You MUST listen to this story and live vicariously through the lives of each character.
I really enjoy Beverly Jenkins books but I have to say this one was not as good as they normally are. It was just missing something. But it was just Okay. Story line was well written but not like Night hawk, The taming of Jessi Rose, and Destiny's Surrender. I do enjoy how her characters reappear in the books. And the history she adds.
I'm a huge fan of Audible. As a school librarian, I've found that it passes my days and nights.
It's ranked as a good read. .
I liked the storyline. Not only would I consider this a romantic novel, but it was thrilling as well. I could feel my adrenaline rise at certain parts of the story. It was exciting at best. The main character, Grace Atwood, was a strong and independent womany who found love and wasn't looking.
Yes, it was. As a matter of fact, I immediately listened a second time.
I've only read a few titles by Jenkins. So far, I'm pleased with her writing style and ability to tell a story.
